WW I remember my sister having a hearing aid she had the box in a pocket or pinned to her top. She had a very bad chest condition and rarely wore it as all it did for her was intensify her wheezing chest. I still remember the first time she got behind the ear aids….she cried because she hadn’t heard birds sing for years. Yes technology has come on so much…..I’d be lost without it.

It was a nice but pretty uneventful New Years Eve here. Ds came around and we had a buffet from things in the freezer I’d bought in for Christmas. We watched a film and saw the fireworks at midnight before ds went home at about half 12 and we fell into bed.
I was determined not to spend today in front of the tv as I’ve been doing a tad too much recently so we went to a local NT property. It was heaving. We had a walk around the gardens. We managed to get one of the last tickets to enter as they shut up at 3.30 and reopen for a Christmas Light Trail around it.  I’ve quite fancied going to this but the tickets are expensive and I always thought they were aimed at children. Anyway we were wandering  around the gardens and they must have been testing ready for tonight as the lights came on…they were quite tasteful and a lot of them showed the beauty in the trees and barks. They were really lovely and that was in the daylight so  they’d be spectacular in the dark. I think we might just splurge out on tickets next year. It for things like this I wish the gks lived closer they’d love it. We wished them happy new year this morning via video….they were very excited showing us what they’d made from the crafts kits I’d made up for them. So the present choice was a success 😃👍
    I haven’t spent a penny yet in 2023 👍😃
I’m eating my way through the extras we bought at Christmas but after Friday when I go to SW I’m determined to change my ways once and for all.
    - Sensible eating
    - Use my gym membership
    - Get back to walking again…..this had stopped as as my ankle was too sore to walk on.
    - Do ‘something everyday’ to get out of my tv morning habit 😏
I basically want to loose 2 stone, stay out of debt and enjoy life 🥂

Good goals to have. I need to get back to my goal weight that I did with SW but I'm going to be using Nutracheck because I can eat anything I like and I get on better with calorie counting,it's also cheaper 😊

    Happy New Year SSG.
I looked at the app recommended by OBL. It looks really good but probably not for me. I never keep up with apps….my phone can lie dormant at the bottom of my bag for days. I think this diary is probably the only thing I’ve stuck with. I’m going to stay with SW I quite enjoy the social side…..just got to do the food side 😏 I think some recent events have given me the momentum to stick at it this time 👍
It was such a beautiful day we headed to a local seaside place an hour or so away. We had a lovely walk then rested with a cuppa before walking back to the car. We drove through big seaside town to our fave cafe at the opposite end and drove through the illuminations on our way home - they are being switched off until next year tonight. It was a lovely day and the furthest I’ve walked for a while (still not as far as I used to walk) We called to wish sil a happy new year on our way home. She lives in a flat and I could hardly put my foot on the floor 😏 I virtually had to crawl up the stairs to her flat. Maybe the steroid injections isn’t lasting as long as my hip one 😢 I’ll just have to pace myself 👍
