I’ve paid my cc in full. Twas rather more than usual. I had a last minute flurry of spending which just wasn’t needed…..including a bottle of expensive gin for my dd and sil to drink over Christmas…..still in the cupboard unopened. I can’t stand the stuff. So I’ll probably take it to dd next time I go down 😏 I also bought tickets to a show in town for myself and friend later in the year. It is what it is and all paid off now…..just shows how easy it is to slip back into old ways. Just need to build the bank balance up again now. I shouldn’t need much shopping in the foreseeable future and I have some @sd@ cash on the savings card I can use. All is still good.
My coat arrived on 23rd. I loved it but it didn’t love me…..or maybe it loved me too much 😂😂🥰😂😂 as it hugged me tightly around my tummy and bottom so that I could barely move. So it’s been packed off to the post office this morning on its return journey. I was so disappointed. My wake up call to do something drastic at SW. If I get the bigger size the shoulders will bury me. I’ll get the cash back in my account for that…..and I’m waiting on a pay out from Simply Health so that will also boost the balance 😃
Ive not been to SW over Christmas so will have to pay for missed weeks. My plan is to go back first week in January and re join AGAIN…..that means I won’t pay for the missed weeks….the fee to rejoin isn’t as much as my missed weeks and will restart 6 weeks holiday.I’d hoped for a walk this morning but it’s piddled down all day. Tomorrow we’re meeting ds in town and going to see The Halle playing Motown Classics. These are a replacement present from him from tickets he’d bought us previously that were cancelled in Covid. It should be a good show as they were excellent a few years back when they played ABBA……they were all dressed up in appropriate costumes and had a couple of great singers. Looking forward to it. Depending on the weather we’ll have a walk around town and get something to eat beforehand.January spends - £587.581 -

Sorry to hear the coat didn’t fit. That’s the trouble with buying online. Sounds like a plan with SW, might as well take the cheapest option. Enjoy the concert tomorrow.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

The coat having to go back is disappointing. You are much wiser than me as I kept a rather snug one and am just wearing it in the hope it will get roomier later. Sizings are tricky beasts as they can differ so much, even from the same shops. I watch a lady on Instagram who lost a lot of weight, she’s lovely and slim now, but modelled some perfect fitting jeans in a size 14 and a perfect fitting dress in an 8, so clearly nothing can be trusted. Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Oh how I hate those sizing problems. Many years ago if you bought from M&S you knew that whatever size you were that size would fit whatever you bought. That is no longer true, well hasn't been for years since they started buying abroad (they had to because they sent most of their UK suppliers bankrupt). There are only 2 now that I can say that the sizing is okay & one of them is Tigi. I am dreading them going the same way. They all do in the end. Wow that sounded depressing sorry.

I agree about the sizes of garments but in all honesty I think the coat was sized correctly as the shoulders and sleeves fitted perfectly. It’s down to the 2 stone I’ve put on since I finished work. Can’t blame anyone but myself. 2023 is the year it’ll go…..I know I’ve said it many times before but I really can’t carry on like this…..all my clothes are so tight and uncomfortable. 2023 is the year for ME 👍😂😂😂I agree Beanie it’s much better to go to a shop I really prefer to feel the quality and try things on. So many shops have shut down though.
I’ve never heard of Tigi Badmemory. I’m off to investigateJanuary spends - £587.580 -
The part arrived for the oven today. Took Dh about 15 minutes to fix. £18 was much, much better than the bill I’d imagined 😃😃😃
I’ve just been into town as my hearing aid has acquired a whistle which has driven me mad over Christmas. It was a 2 minute job to recalibrate it but I’m not sure how successful it has been as it started whistling again in the car home.I’ve spent £35 over the last couple of days. I bought the tram tickets and coffees yesterday. Then nipped into Asda today as I needed to spend £4 on their speciality range to hit the target so I could claim £5 back on my loyalty card 👍👍 I bought some mince for £4 so it was basically a freebie 😀😀
The Halle were amazing last night. They played lots of Motown classics. The female singer was brilliant. The male singer had a very mellow voice which was beautiful on the slower melodies but didn’t quite have the range on the more lively ones. I’d still rather hear him sing than me though 😂😂 There is something quite special hearing a full orchestra. I’ve been awake most of the night though after clapping….my arm has objected. We had great seats too 👍January spends - £587.580 -
