Could be an interesting ride to Carlisle then RS.
It’s been a spendy sort of day today. My coat has got ridiculously tight…..I’d like to put it down to wearing extra layers but I suspect it’s more to do with carrying extra pounds around the middle regions. It’s getting silly trying to fasten it - the zip is going to split very soon me thinks. I’d read on the boards somewhere about lighthouse coats and I’d never heard of them so looked them up and liked them. Can’t remember if it was SA that had ordered one. I was going to get a pink one which was in the sale but they didn’t have my size so have ordered a navy one. I’m hoping it’ll be warm. I don’t usually buy online but I can’t be bothered traipsing around the shops. I’ve gone for a bigger size that usual too so I’m hoping it fits 🤞
My friend came around and we went out to a localish pub for dinner. Her treat…twas very nice too. I’ll return the treat in the New Year.
I got the rest of my decorations up this morning - it only took about an hour. What a difference the right mood and not being as tired makes 😀 I could happily curl up and have a snooze now though.
My friend has pinned some sleeves up on a jumper for me so I’m going to sit and sew them now. I think they made the jumper for an orangutan as the sleeves were really long.January spends - £587.580 -
Yes @milann it was me. I have the pink one and I’m very happy with it. It’s warm and waterproof but not too bulky so you don’t feel like the Michelin man in it.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Thanks SA - you’ve reassured me it’s warm 👍 I quite like the A line style. I hope it fits me.

I’ve spent the afternoon wrapping presents. I now know what I need to get. Just something for ds and a couple of bits as extras for dd and sil.Whilst I was wrapping I had the contents of my drawers in the dishwasher and have wiped the insides so they’re sparkly clean with no crumbs for Christmas. Just one more cupboard to do.I visited a cousin yesterday. I hadn’t seen her for years and bumped into her last year and we vowed to keep in touch. It was quite nice chatting - she’s been doing some genealogy and was filling me in about my grandparents. All my grandparents had passed away before I was born so I don’t know that much about them. She is 17 years older than me and I used to stay at her house a lot when I was younger. Her daughter is only 5 years younger than me. We have said we’ll get together again in the new year.I had an appointment through for my arm which I really want to go to as my arm has deteriorated since I had the op 3 years ago. I don’t think they can do anything but I’d like it documented for my medical notes. Dh is on a job that he doesn’t think he can get out of, ds has meetings so I’ve been looking into finding my own way there. It’s about an hour away in the car and is an absolute pain to get to on public transport. There’s no way I could drive that far. I phoned the hospital to see if I could rearrange but you go to the bottom of the list if you cancel which will be at least 3 months away…..probably longer. I’m hoping Dh can get out of the job that’s been planned for that day it’s not often he knows what he’s doing but this job has been booked and they’ve hired equipment especially for it 😏. I even looked into getting a taxi and estimated cost is £40-50 one way 😳😳 My friend has taken me in the past but she has a new job. I’m not going to cancel but am living in hope the hospital cancel as they’ve been known to do previously then they usually put an extra clinic on 🤞
I haven’t spent much at all this week ( except my coat, which I’m hoping arrives before Christmas) as I’m trying to use what I have in to make room in the cupboards before my Christmas shop. I still haven’t written Christmas cards - except for people I’ve handed them to. I’m going to message folk to wish merry Christmas instead as I don’t hold out much hope for them getting there now before Christmas. 😏January spends - £587.582 -

Thanks Beanie. It should have been in June but theres been a backlog….it’s just typical it’s that particular week when ds can’t take holidays and Dh is travelling to a job which usually includes lat nights for him 😏
I was watching the programme about Agatha Christie on catch up. I knew she had connections with the area around here as apparently she was sitting on a train at a station a few miles away and named Miss Marple after the station…not sure whether it’s an urban myth. But my favourite place to walk - where I walked during lockdown was actually on the 2 nd show. She visited the hall after her breakdown - the park I walk in was the garden of the hall where her older sister lived. It looked quite impressive. Pity it’s mainly offices now.
I’m planning on a trip to Lidl to drop off a surplus toy to the collection point in there. I’d forgotten I’d bought a polly pocket earlier in the year but decided I’ve got the gks enough and somebody else can enjoy it.
I want to finish the cupboards and sort the girls bedroom out. That shouldn’t be too bad. I also want to post a parcel and get milk. So should be a low spend day. I’m just hoping it’s not slippery out there - I have managed to park near gritted paths the last few times I’ve been out…..don’t like the ice at all.January spends - £587.580 -
I am also debating whether to go out. I had arranged to meet my sister in law again at the big shopping mall yesterday. I went to sw first…I’d put 1/2 lb on but it is what it is. It could have been much more. I’d planned on driving to the tram station and getting the tram to the mall, but decided to go in the car. I was extremely lucky and found a parking place as soon as I entered which was next to a gritted path. My sil was an hour late as her traffic was horrendous and she toured the many car parks looking for a space. She only lives 5 minutes away. We had dinner in sp00ns and a bit of a mooch around. I still find her very hard going but do feel for her. She has made it up with her dd so will be going there on Christmas Day. I have told her she is welcome if anything changes. She was trying to make me promise not to let her go in a home…I did tell her no one knows what is around the corner and it’s just as well 😏 I don’t think I could make that promise to anyone.I finished my present shopping and ended up spending more than I expected as I didn’t have a clue what to buy my grown up kids. After I’d left sil I nipped to C@stc@ for cheese and sausages - but kept my car where it was parked so I was restricted to my rucksack and didn’t get too carried away 👍 OMG the queues looked horrendous but went down surprisingly quickly. I left at home 9.30 am and arrived home at 9pm. I did go to SW though and we did spend a long time sitting chatting.I fell to sleep straight away but woke up at 2 and tossed all night until 6 this morning when I nodded off. I wanted to be up early as I expecting the window cleaner and wanted him to do inside.I’ve wrapped the things I bought yesterday and done a bit of tidying. We watched I am Ruth this afternoon- great acting but not a feel good show at all…..in fact quite a frightening scenario. My youngest gdd was 6 yesterday and was very excited to show me her presents this morning - thankfully nothing I’d bought her for Christmas 😀January spends - £587.580
