Not sure what got into me today. I had a desire to go and see my brother…..not sure why. He phoned me last week (he isn’t in good health and is often in and out of hospital) and was telling me about his latest ailments. For some reason I couldn’t settle and had to go and see him. He was much better than I expected so don’t know why I was concerned. Anyway his wife helps runs a craft club at a sheltered housing complex. I went with her and they were making wreaths with a sheer material cut into strips and tied around a frame…..they were very effective. I finished one somebody had started and helped a couple of the less able folk. Some of the ladies took them home but they have a pool of crafts they sell to fund the club so some went to that, any excess cash is used to pay for a meal or treat for themselves very now and then. It was quite good fun. Pity it’s not local to me, it’s a tramride of about an hour away so I’d be happy to go every now and then. I feel much more settled now I’ve satisfied myself my brother is ok.I took his gks Christmas money and all the cards to save postage so that covered any postage 😀 and it felt great that I’d put cash away throughout the year to cover the gifts
I couldn’t believe it……I’ve been collecting sewing bits and arty bits for my gks for Christmas to put in a sewing box and rucksack as my gks love making things. My brother produced 2 beautifully sanded and waxed wooden boxes with initials on he’s been working on and proudly announced they’re for my gks for Christmas- one filled with sewing things - the other with arty things…When they were last home we visited my brother and they took crafts to show him and amuse themselves whilst we were there. .Ahhhh well - they’ll not run out of things to do 😏
My crochet wreath is coming along nicely. I’ve finished the crochet around the ring so now only need to make the snowmen and embroider a few bits on.January spends - £587.581 -
Glad that you went to see your brother

Dh has been awarded points on a loyalty card to a local Italian restaurant. We haven’t been for about 3 years, I think they’re drumming up business to remind folk their still there. So we’ll take a trip today or tomorrow as they can only be used mid week 😀 He has enough points for a meal each 😀
We’ve also received free tickets to a local caravan and motorhome show in January.Just waiting to see what the next free tickets will be as they say things arrive in 3’s……well a girl can hope 😏😂😂😂😂January spends - £587.580 -
We’ve just been for a lovely meal at the Italian. It’s a small chain and quite expensive but the food is lovely…..we first went when Dh had vouchers for a special birthday from work. Every now and then the restaurant put points on the loyalty card so we made the most of them this afternoon and had virtually free meal 😀
Whilst out I posted the forms to HSA to claim dental expenses back and hopefully I’ll get paid for being a day patient when I had the steroid injection in my ankle…..I’m not sure if I’ve reached my limit though for day case treatments as I’ve claimed for my hip injection and scans this year….worth sending off though just in case. There is still bruising on my ankle. I keep thinking it’s gone and another layer comes out 😏I have gone a bit crazy and have my artificial tree dripping over the bath. It must be best part of 20 years old and I noticed it smelt dusty last year as I was packing it away, so I’ve dipped it in soapy water and rinsed to freshen it up. I have done this previously. So I’ll assemble it in the morning and once it’s properly dry I’ll decorate it and wipe the baubles as I put them on the tree tomorrow. On Saturday I’ll help ds put his tree up. I need to write some Christmas cards and get them in the post….I’m not sending as many this year. I’d made the decision not to send cash to some great nephews and nieces and blow me I had a card with a photo of one of them this morning so now I’m doubting myself again….
I’ll be having an early night tonight as my arm keeps locking up when I sleep and it’s so sore trying to unlock it….then I couldn’t get comfortable lying on my hip, I ended up taking paracetamol at 2.30 and rubbing ibuprofen gel everywhere that hurt. Think I nodded back off at about 6 am. It’s driving me mad 😕January spends - £587.581 -
Glad you enjoyed the almost free meal. We stopped sending money to our nephews for birthday/Christmas a few years ago as we never see or hear from them (Mr SA’s side, I’m an only child).Hope you get a decent night’s sleep tonight.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Twas very nice Beanie…..I decided to have a pizza….it had a fancy name I’d not heard of before but had ham, mushroom, 2 different kinds of olives, artichokes along with the usual mozzarella and tomato sauce. Then we had home made chocolate truffles between us. And a couple of pots of tea…..twas 2 cold for cold drinks. They’re doing half price mains in January so we will go back 👍January spends - £587.580
