    Chocolate truffles
I was thinking the same 😋 A colleague used to bring in homemade rum truffles every Christmas and they were absolutely delicious. Sadly he’s now retired but the memories of those truffles will stay with me forever 😆

When I was eating them I did say I’d have a go at making chocolate truffles….not sure if it’ll ever happen but it’s a nice thought 😂😂
I’m fast losing the will to live….I’m trying to arrange the room so the tree can fit in. In previous years I’ve put things upstairs BUT we won’t be able to put any put up bed out if we do that. I’ve walked away counting to 100….10 didn’t hack ti 😏 then going back to reassess 😳

Well I made a right royal mess  (insert your own word beginning with c 🐔 there) up yesterday 😳
I’d been invited to a friends 60 th birthday celebration on 10th December - an afternoon tea. I was really looking forward to it and told Dh not to plan anything that day. Last week when we went to dds - she asked if we could rearrange  the weekend. I said no as I was at said do.  I’d planned the everything around being free on 10 th. Yesterday I went to ds house to help him do a Christmas clean and put his tree up. I do everything he can’t reach - we work as a good team. Dh had gone to the central library at the big city playing his ukulele with his group after dropping me at ds house. He went into town on the tram which stops at the corner of Dh street. The plan was  he’d pick up doing any jobs I I couldn’t manage. This was all planned so I’d be free on Sunday 10th. I was on a roll and just after 3pm I had a phone call asking if I was going to the afternoon tea. I said yes - tomorrow. I couldn’t believe it when I realised yesterday was 10th and what a blunder I’d made. I ended up with ds driving me across town all dressed up, wearing the finery of my cleaning clothes - the card and present ( plus a present I was passing on for another friend ) at home all and I was an hour late. I’d looked forward to having a reason to get dressed up….😂 well that didn’t happen. I did indeed have a lovely time for the time I was there and everybody made me feel very welcome. It was an amazing afternoon tea too. One of the best if not the best I’d had. Lol we ended up ringing Dh telling him not to get the tram back to Ds house as there’d be nobody there but to head to big out of town shopping mall….which wasn’t far from the venue….which ds headed to for half an hour before coming back to pick me up. I couldn’t believe what I’d done 😳😳
So after the event I cracked on cleaning where I’d literally dropped everything -we put the tree up and I arrived home at 10 pm last night. I didn’t sleep much last night as my arm was protesting to having been used…..and I’d used my opposite arm as much as I could. So I’ve had a lazy morning.
I have just saved money by buzz cutting  Dh hair. I think the buzzers have saved me so much cash over the years. The plan today is do some washing, put the rest of the Christmas decs up and watch Ruth on catch up tv this afternoon whilst roast potatoes and lamb steaks are cooking 👍
I still can’t believe I messed the days up…..no idea how I did it as it says Saturday on my calendar I just had Sunday in my head for some unknown reason. I think I need to start using my phone calendar set with 100s of reminders…..

I dropped the presents off today and went to see sil as it wasn’t far from the drop off. Not got much further with my Christmas decs though as I’m very tired after cleaning yesterday 😏

Thank goodness you made it in the end. It’s this time of year the days go by so fast it’s hard to keep up with what date it is.

So today I’ll try and finish putting the decorations up. My heart just isn’t in it. I was so tired yesterday after helping ds I had no energy. I did stay longer with my sister in law than I intended…..she was on good form. I haven’t seen her like that in a long time. Her house was nice and Christmassy and it was very hot in there. I dread to think what her heating bill will be 😳. I was sitting in a warm stupor on her sofa 😂😂Tea ended up being chicken and mushroom from the freezer with rice. I really need to get some cards in the post this week - I am sending a fraction of what I usually send. I need to write a meal and shopping list or I’m in danger of grabbing anything from the shelves. I have a turkey already, I get a frozen free range one. But today a friend is visiting so I’d best pull my Christmas pants up and wave my magic wand to finish the Christmas decs 👍

Looking at the weather I’m so pleased it was last weekend we were at dds. Don’t think we’d have done the run in 5 hours in the snow down there 😳

We could do with the weather improving by Saturday. We are supposed to be heading to Carlisle this coming weekend to meet up with family.
