Lol there was no chance of me not moving yesterday. I was at the dentist at 9.30 had a check up, couple of x-rays and missing filling replaced. Dh dropped me off at the dentist en enroute to work, I walked to the train station for the train into big city and was meeting ds  at 10.30 at the train station in the big city 😃 I was pretty impressed with that timeline. 😂😂 I had to chuckle as it was a locum dentist who told me my dental hygiene was good 3 TIMES……not sure what he was expecting or what he usually sees 😱🤷‍♀️ Anyway that was £52 something but I can reclaim it from HSA.
I had a lovely day with ds. We mooched around town for a while looking for Chrismas presents. He treated me to lunch. We drove to C@stco and I renewed our membership. We always go halves on this but I owed him for a few bits he’d bought from t’internet so I paid. We had a quick nosy in there but I only bought a few bits then we headed near to his house to the big Swedish Emporium. We had a cuppa in there and it was the costly price of 50p as we used my loyalty card 👍 I bought extra plates and glasses as I’ve broken a few recently and don’t want to constantly be washing up at Christmas when everyone is here. The traffic near the The Swedish place was  the worse I’ve ever seen it as the motorway and a busy road which has a bridge going over it were closed due to police incident. It was a standstill, total gridlock. We ended up driving around the roundabout into M&S next door as we weren’t going anywhere else. We spent a long time in there and Sainsbury’s next door just waiting for the traffic chaos to clear.
We have a little  windmill in the garden and I’m gutted as one of the blades has broken off. I’ve just tried glueing it but it’s a funny plastic which the glue hasn’t worked on. I’m sick to death of the cats around here. One of the Christmas decs fell onto the windmill….which I presume the cat knocked down. I cleaned so much cat 💩 on Monday and it’s as bad again now 😡 I’ve just cleaned more at and been hissed at by next doors cat in my own garden, which it has claimed as it’s own 😡 I’ve put a lot of curry powder down to discourage them…..chillies didn’t work, neither did garlic and I bought some commercial cat deterrent  which the cats just loved. I’m sure they’re laughing at me. This is on concrete and tarmac - I always thought cats buried their mess…..they’re too lazy around here. I do like cats but object to them using my garden as a toilet.
I spent a fair bit of cash yesterday but it’s been out of my Christmas stash so all is well. Even though I spent the day with ds I still have no idea what to get him.
Right off to tidy and pack as we’re off to dds to look after the dks for 3 nights as it’s their 10 th wedding anniversary and they’re having a couple of nights away.

I don’t think so RS. I have seen foxes around but there are so many cats around atm they are forever fighting and very territorial. I need to see who the culprit is…..might putting a camera out 😏……think I’m getting unhealthily obsessed 😱😂

I’ve just had a follow up appointment through after my ankle. Doc said he’d speak to me in 4 months…admin department decided it’d be 4 weeks. I’ll keep the appointment anyway just in case he changed his mind.
The Christmas cakes look and smell ok despite Dh turning them off an hour early. I’d nipped out on Monday evening asking him to check them between half 7 and 8. He looked at them and turned the oven off thinking they looked ok. I came in at 8.30 and checked them - there was still raw mix in the skewer. Thankfully he’d left them in the oven. I turned it back on for another hour 😱😱. What that they say……about doing it yourself if you want a job doing well 😂😂

My friend bought a couple of the little ultrasonic cat deterrent things for her garden and was very impressed - she said they weren't expensive either, although I don't know the detail.

MrEH will be wanting to sort our christmas cake soon I reckon - I'd better remind him to double check if there are any more ingredients he'll need for that. Glad yours were redeemable in spite of the oven being turned off!

  • Just caught up on your diary and have enjoyed reading about all your various outings . That pigeon looked like a racer to me, maybe he had lost his ring. As for the cats in the garden do you have a water pistol for the dgks hanging around anywhere or one of those big super soakers, if you spray them with water every time you catch them in the garden it will put them off coming in. My neighbours discthis with my cat when he kept going into their house and he won't go over there now. She was severely allergic to cats so was risking a hospital visit every time he snuck in. I suggested she squirt him with water and it worked, it does work better if the cat can't see you so doesn't know where it's coming from though 😊

I have been seriously ill a few times in recent years (including hospitalisation) due to a cat crapping in my raised beds and my garden in general.
I am partially sighted and don't always see it before I get too close when weeding/deadheading etc.
And I am allergic to cat poo
Can't do the watergun/super soaker idea as it always runs when I open the door
Curry powder, apple cider vinegar work for a while but need to be done every week so who needs the expense or the hassle
Unstoppables Febreeze works for about 2 weeks
I am seriously considering depositing the poo in the owners flower beds as apparantly they go where they can smell themselves
I honestly wonder if so many people would have cats if they !!!!!! in their owners gardens
I always had dogs and picked up their poo but there seem to be no laws about cat poo
