We got there about half an hour after the shopping centre opened and sales assistant said someone went in as soon as the shop opened and bought it - so we didn’t get the phone. I’ve left it in ds capable hands to find me a bargain 😂😂👍- in the meantime I’ll carry on with mine.
We called to see relative who lives near the shopping mall. We’re taking her out on Friday for her birthday, which is the following weekend when we’re out in Millie, if the weather is ok we’ll take her to the illuminations at a seaside place an hour and half away for a ride along the lights and fish and chips in our favourite cafe. We asked her for Christmas explaining if she wants to go to her dds that’s fine……but she’s welcome with us rather than spending the day on her own. I don’t mind if she tells us on the day. They’ll be plenty of food for 1 extra and we can squash around the table a bit closer. At least we’ve offered and it’ll be like a madhouse so no room for her negativity 😂 I don’t think she will come.
Spendy day as I bought some Christmas presents for gks.
We ended up going to ds for tea as there’s a firework display he can see from his window. It wasn’t as good as previous years but like everything else I bet the price has spiralled….can’t complain though as we were standing at his kitchen window watching 😂

I’ve spent the morning wandering around my local banks enquiring about saving accounts that can actually  be opened in bank. My own H@lifax worked out best 3.4% for a years fix. I’ve got an appointment for Thursday to go and open one. It should be made easier because I already bank there. I know I can do better online but just don’t want the stress of it 😏 I had a bit of a meander around the shops which have diminished even more than last time I was there. I noticed quite a few independent shops have curtailed their opening hours to market days. There wasn’t a lot open at all
I had a phone call dead on 8.30 this morning- it was the hospital. I go at 7.30 at the end of the month for a steroid injection in my ankle. I’ll be so pleased when it’s done. I’ve come home and have to sit with it up as it’s swollen and sore after my trip out this morning 😕 I go tomorrow with my hip (yes - I know - I can’t go without it 😉)  Hopefully he’ll do another injection in that fairly soon…..he wants x rays tomorrow. It will be good for my ankle and hip to be in sync…..they usually take it in turns. Because I’m not walking properly one sets t’other off.
Mmmmm….rather a spendy day as I bought a few presents and ended up having dinner out. Twas very nice but I should have come home and had a sandwich. I’m slipping inside bad ways again 🙄🤫 Need to give myself a kick up the behind 👍

I got early to give Dh a bacon butty in bed for his birthday before he went to work. His present hasn’t arrived yet so I bought his a daft 3D puzzle so that he had something to open this morning. He’ll sit and fiddle with something like that until he sorts it…..I’d throw it out of the window 😂😂😂
I was planning on walking to the hospital this afternoon- it’s just through my favourite place to walk ( I’ve not walked there for ages though 😏) it’s been quite sunny all morning but I’ve just looked out and it’s absolutely throwing it down. I’ll hang on a bit longer and drive if need be. I really want to walk though as no point letting the doctor see it when I’ve rested on it all morning.

The price of motorhomes has gone absolutely mad.

When we bought ours 18 months ago a brand new one was £60k. We paid £48k for ours at 2 years old. A new one now the same model, nothing has changed on the spec is £81k. We could sell ours for about £60k.

    The world has gone mad!

No doubt the prices will dip a bit now that we are coming into troubled economic times.

I think vehicles generally are going through a funny time at the moment - the depreciation situation is definitely not as clear cut as it used to be is it!

Good that you have the appointment through for your ankle - and here's hoping that the hip can be done at the same sort of time - it's not surprise that one thing being a problem makes the other worse is it, so logic would say it would be better to have the two in sync - but hey, what do we know, eh?!

Yes RS….the price of vehicles has gone crazy. We’re booked in for our first Hab check next week - all looks ok to me but will have to see what they say. It’ll all be covered anyway 👍
I do like the doc I’ve seen today. I’ve seen the man himself every time  I’ve been over the last 4 years I think it is now…..nhs patient but in a private hospital- what a difference - the last nhs one I saw at my local hospital was on the phone whilst I was there and you rarely get to see the same doctor. Anyway there’s deterioration and he asked if I want to go on the list for a replacement hip. I said I’ll carry on with the steroid injections for now. I’m on the list for that but it won’t be until January/February. He said if I change my mind - ring his secretary. I only have 4 limbs and am under 3 different consultants at 3 different hospitals so the chance of them syncing injections is pretty non existent EH 😂😂😂 let’s be honest….the chance of them syncing even if I was at the same hospital would be slim 😏 There was a man there - not sure what he was having done but he was in the x-ray department and asking how much his session today would be £987 😱 thank goodness for the NHS 👍
I walked through my favourite place to walk and sat and had a cuppa en route, watching the bird life on the pond. It’s still only £1 for a drink 😃I’d forgotten how much I enjoyed my walks there.
Going out tonight for Dh birthday. His choice of a cheap and cheerful meal as we also went out at weekend. Ds is coming around. So another spendy day for me. Anyway I’ve got all the birthday presents now which happen to be before Christmas.
I want to do some number crunching and pay my cc off tomorrow before my appointment at the bank on Thursday 👍 I need to get back in control.

Well last night was an experience. We went to a local curry house that I’ve known of for a long time but I’ve never been. They don’t have a license so as we entered the waiter asked if we wanted to nip to ‘the offy’ across the way 😂😂😂 We did indeed nip to the off license for some cans £6 👍 much cheaper than drinks in the restaurant. The food was good but the waiting staff were totally OTT in a good way. One in particular was very camp and had us in stitches. They sang Happy birthday to Dh and called him Grandad throughout he evening….at the end of the meal they brought Sambucca (sp) and squirted some in Dh mouth which he nearly choked on 😂😂😂 - I passed the experience. Then they brought us Baileys on the house. As we were leaving I got a rose and a small bottle of wine to drink at home as it was my 1st visit Dh got a bottle of wine and chocolate orange for his birthday. We had the set menu 5 courses at £19 each. I wasn’t expecting the alcohol since they didn’t have a license but I suppose because they weren’t actually selling it they could do it.
Today I’m meeting a friend for her birthday. It’s ridiculous the birthdays I know of this week - I had 3 people to buy for who shared birthdays yesterday. All special people who have looked after me so I’m more than happy to acknowledge their special days 👍
I want to tidy the bedroom when I get home. I sorted a drawer yesterday and have dumped a fair few objects from the drawer onto my dressing table. I need to put them away before I add to the pile 👍 I’m determined to keep my newly painted room tidy. I also need to get on with turning the curtains up and re covering the cushions. That won’t be today though as I can’t manage to wrestle the material atm. My arm is objecting I didn’t do myself any favours by not getting decorator in 😳 even though dh did most of the work😏

You have reminded me that I need to book our hab check for Milo for the beginning of next year.

The first one last year picked up a few bits we already knew about and got fixed. Don't think anything else has reared it's ugly head over the last 12 months.

We have a flurry of birthdays over Christmas. One on Christmas Eve, two on Boxing day and one on New Years Eve!
