I flipping well love a swim in a quiet pool! I really ought to try to get back for a few sessions before the school holidays kick in and such a thing gets impossible to find! I've loved using the relatively local outdoor pool the last couple of years but sadly it's closed this year for a refurb - looking at the speed the refurb appears to be happening, I'm guessing it'll be closed next year as well!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

A couple of local pools here have closed to do increased running costs.1 -
Hope they open your pool soon EH. RS from what I can gather there have been a lot of pool closures and I can see more closing with the cost of heating them. When we were in Falmouth earlier this year they’d just closed a lovely pool which wasn’t very old. Such a shame. There was much heated discussion about it on the radio.
I went to the gym and had my first go on the fancy machines I had the induction for. I kept telling the instructor not to give me anything too strenuous as it sets me back and puts me off 😉 He was true to his word…..1/2 hour of gentle exercise. I can see me continuing with this 👍😁😁 the best bit was going to use the hand held vibrating machines 😳😳😘 - oooo-errrr that sounds very rude but they were like hairdryers with vibrating heads of different sorts that you apply to shoulders and any muscles you’ve used……oooohhhhhh - still sounds dodgy. But it was sheer bliss and really made me relax. I’m not going tomorrow but meeting a friend for a swim on Friday before myself and Dh go to building society to do a bit of money juggling. I’d not seen her for ages but we met a couple of weeks ago and just picked up where we left off.
I think my ankle is finally getting back to normal. I’m walking short distances on decent surfaces ok again. Not ventured too far but I couldn’t walk around the house properly a few weeks ago. I’m determined to keep using it. My friend found out she had arthritis and just stopped any form of exercise…..it didn’t take long for her to really deteriorate. I’ve been very good food wise this week…..not a crisp nor cake has passed my lips. I did go a tad wild over the jubilee weekend though and just haven’t wanted any since.
I’d contemplated a cuppa at the gym but even with 25% off it’d still be £30 a month if I succumb every time I go. I will have a treat sometimes but not every time….I have learned over time. One time I spent more time in the cafe than anywhere else 👍 no wonder I ended up in debt 😳
My brother finally had his operation yesterday. I spoke to him last night and he sounded a tad rough. He is home though, I’m glad it’s been done and hope it makes his life easier. It’s his wife’s birthday today….suspect she won’t get much of a rest. It’s cloudy and very muggy here today…..not sure what happened to the sunshine everyone is talking about …..it’s bypassed usJanuary spends - £587.581 -
Glad you’re enjoying the gym and that your ankle is improving. Hope your brother recovers quickly.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

It actually rained at teatime yesterday. Not for long but enough to have wet my washing had I not noticed it 😏. First time in a long time I’d actually put washing outside and it rained on it….some things don’t change 😂😂😂😂 It is beautifully sunny this morning and so far not too hot….hope it stays that way. The weather forecast for where we’re going next week looks considerably cooler but as long as it’s fairly bright and dry I don’t mind.
I want to give the van a quick clean inside this morning, it’s isn’t too bad but always nice to start a trip squeaky clean😏
This afternoon I think we might have a BBQ if Dh hasn’t got much planned…..will have to see what he’s up to later. You watch if we as much as dare get the bbq out…..the rain clouds will appear 😳🤞 hopefully they won’t.January spends - £587.581 -
We had a few spots of rain yesterday evening as well. Just as we got home from visiting family. A few really heavy splodges that looked like we might have a proper downpour but then it just stopped again.
Lovely and sunny again here today but getting a bit hot to be sat around in the office.1 -
Van is squeaky clean and all ready to pack. Ill do some ironing tomorrow- a downside of drying clothes outside 😏 , tidy up and change bedding on Saturday then we’re ready for the off on Sunday for nearly a week. I’m quite liking a few days away every week or so 😁 I hope we get some rain at home whilst we’re away to water my garden.
We went to a town where I visited often as a child and Dh lived. They are trying hard to make a foodie centre but there are so many empty units. They must have spent a great deal of cash on it…..the rest of the high street is sad to see. We visited the building society there and shuffled some cash around. We did indeed have a BBQ and very tasty it was too.
I need to see how my spends are doing this month as I’ve completely lost track 😳January spends - £587.581 -
Enjoy your break.
Its a couple more weeks at work for us before we head across to the Isle of Wight with Milo for a week. Counting down now.
Went into the van this morning to plug it in and turn the fridge on ready for this weekends break at a friends house and was surprised how cool it felt in there compared to in the house. Was expecting it to be boiling hot as it's been locked up all week in this heat.1
