We had a lovely couple of days in Wales. It took just over an hour to get to the site which was about 15 minutes inland from Rhyl. We spent the afternoon in Rhyl…..mainly sitting outside a lovely cafe eating delicious Welsh cakes which is a cross between a scotch pancake and a scone. The following morning we had to have the van at the dealership at 10 am. I had the best nights sleep I’d had in a very long time and woke with a jolt…..looked at my fit bit. It was 8.31……we needed to shower, have breakfast and pack the van ready for travelling. Then get to the dealership . Action stations….we were working as a team. As I was dressing after my shower I looked at my Fitbit with my specs on……7.05…..I looked again…….7.05 then the penny dropped…… it must have been 6.31 when I’d woken up 😂😂😂😂😂
Soooooo I was up 2 hours earlier than I needed to have been. I made another cuppa and we enjoyed the early morning sunshine- which is just as well as it clouded over and it rained the rest of the day 😏
I was impressed with the service at the dealership. Done and dusted in less than half an hour whilst we had a cuppa and bacon butty a few shops along. We headed a further hour and a bit deeper into Wales and went on a train ride around Lake Bala. It’s a pity it was so grey and drizzly as you couldn’t see the magnificent mountains around us. The journey there was pretty spectacular though. The last day we travelled to another train town and viewed the trains on the station. We walked along the high street which has some lovely little shops and sat and had lunch then had another little saunter before heading home through the heart of Snowdonia. It felt a lot longer than 2 nights and a real break - even though I couldn’t do the usual walking I do. I did feel as if I was stopping Dh as he likes a good walk. He wouldn’t go off on his own though. We spent a long time driving around the countryside and stopping to admire the scenery or sitting in cafes people watching.
Ive been with a friend to Costco this morning as she wanted a few bits. Tomorrow I’m going to a family do at her dds which should be lovely.
We will be at home a week than off for another 6 nights.January spends - £587.581 -

I typed a long message this morning…..no idea where it is. Apologies if I’ve typed on the wrong post 😳
Basically it was saying I had a lovely time in Wales. We visited Rhyl, Bala - where we had a ride on a train by the side of the Lake. We visited another town which is the home of yet another train, we didn’t ride this time but had a saunter along the shops and sat watching the boats. We did a lot of driving through beautiful countryside and a fair bit of people watching from cafes drinking coffee and eating Welsh cakes. I managed some walking but once my ankle suddenly decided it had had enough - that was it and we had to sit 😏
The morning we had to take the van to the workshop I’d had the best nights sleep I’d had in ages….I suddenly woke thinking I’d overslept. I checked my Fitbit which showed 8.31. So it was action stations……breakfast, shower, packing van and driving 20 minutes to workshop for 10 a.m. We worked as a team getting things sorted. I’d showered and put my specs on….7.15….checked again 7.15 Soooooo it must have said 6.31 when I first looked. We’d got up 2 hours earlier than we needed 😂😂😂😂😳😳😳😳😂😂😂😂Note to myself…..wake up properly and put glasses on before looking at the time 👍👍Anyway we saw 2 hours of beautiful sunshine and relaxed with another cuppa before we had to take the van. Which is just as well as it clouded over and rained the rest of the day. I was very impressed with the repair. It was sorted in less than half an hour whilst we enjoyed bacon butties in the cafe a couple of doors away.
On the way home we drove through the heart of Snowdonia driving through the majestic mountains with its lakes and forests. We really saw some stunning scenery 😃 I always get sentimental when I pass through the mountains……makes me appreciate what I have 👍 Although we were only away a couple of nights it felt like a lot longer ( in a good way 😂)This morning I went with my friend to Costc@ her dd is having a family party tomorrow and we are going over.
Ds came around this afternoon and we went for a walk along a river a short drive away. Had a coffee on the high street nearby and then walked back. I was really pleased as it’s the longest I’ve managed to walk for a while…..we usually do a lot more and walk in some NT grounds when we go there, but I was more than happy with where we’d been. I need to keep moving 👍January spends - £587.580 -
I’m losing the plot. The post I thought I’d lost is now there but my signature is back to March…..what’s going on 😳
Had a lovely day - went to a friends family do where I know everyone as we’ve been friends since we were 5. It started in church at 11 am and then straight into the club next door. I’d had a couple of glasses of rose before dinner time 😳🍷🍷😁 I’m not used to it and felt very happy 😂😂 I called it a day after that and went on soft drinks or I’d have been flat on my back. We walked home and had a lovely roast dinner - I can’t remember the last time I did a roast…..technically I didn’t cook all the roast as I bought the chicken ready cooked yesterday at costc@…..twas very nice non the less. A bargain though £3.99 for a big cooked chicken….it’d cost more than that to buy to cook yourself. I’m absolutely shattered now though so having an early night and have no plans other than chilling for the next couple of days…..can’t cope with being busy for days on end any more - I need my chilled days 👍January spends - £587.581 -
My signature has gone back to March too 😕I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

I need to send some paperwork to Simplyhealth today. I tried and failed to do it on line a couple of weeks ago 😏 by the time the paper claim forms came through, we had a few busy days and I haven’t got around to doing them yet. Today is the day. I also want to research some bank accounts that have accounts with a branch near me and go and open a savings account. I don’t want anything on line - I last looked a few weeks ago and found one with a little more interest than I have now……just need to check this is still the best option for me. I am also going to check my spends for the month….and previous months since my signature has vanished for the last couple of months.
Nothing too strenuous happening here as I’m tired and waiting for a GP callback. When I had the camera job a few weeks back the consultant recommended a treatment should the symptoms become troublesome again, they are beginning to build up again so have phoned to get the treatment started 👍January spends - £587.581 -
GP phoned back fairly quickly and has left a prescription which will be ready after 2 pm. If this can sort the problem out I’ll be a happy Milann 😁 I feel as if I’m continually moaning about health 😏 but I suppose its all about learning to live with things as they are now that won’t change considerably. It’s a case of fighting them to be able to continue doing the things I liked doing not giving in 😉
I’m going to the gym and doing a short circuit that doesn’t include any pressure on my ankle then popping into town to set up a new saving account. 2% up to £1000 and 1.5% for up to £2500……not that the lump sum from my pension was anything like that…..I wish 😂😂😂😂😂 but I might as well get what I can for the bit that is left. At the moment I’m getting 0%…..I’ve been meaning to do something for ages but couldn’t decide the best way forward. I know I could do better on line but I’m not good with technology and am very wary of scams…..think I’ve been watching too much daytime tv and heard all the horror stories. Plus the debacle with my mum in laws estate has scared me silly - I just want something safe. I’ve never had any sort of savings before in my life so am reluctant to do anything dangerous with what I have now as it’s got to last me a long time - I hope 😏😂😁January spends - £587.581 -
I know what you man about not really feeling comfortable with online only banking options - I tend towards feeling a bit the same. Having said that we do have some savings in a M@rcus account - which I guess is technically online only. I know we could get slightly better going to a purely online entity but there's nothing that's "enough" more to quite tempt me at the moment!

Didn’t get very far opening a new bank account. There was 1 person behind the counter. A long queue…..I hoped they’d give me a form to complete but they suggested applying on line. They made me a n appointment for the week after next but said they’d only fill the on line forms in with me. I might not bother 😏
I couldn’t find my trainers to go to the gym so went swimming instead. It was very quiet - I’d really forgotten how much I enjoy it. I remembered my trainers are in Millie so I’ll go tomorrow to the gym. I’m going for the little and often mix it up approach 😁 So far my ankle has been ok…it’s when I’m actually walking that the agro begins 😏 I think I just did too much last time we were away and it’s slowly recovering 😁January spends - £587.581
