Anniversaries of those no longer with us are always tinged with sadness. Nothing can take away the memories though.

I predict a lot of cake baking with all those eggs 😆
    This on both counts.

I have been going through old photographs for the forthcoming event.
Some lovely memories but some sad ones of all the people no longer with us.
One branch of our family lost 4 people in 3 years.
Down to 10 in total left. Sobering.

That’s a lot to loose in a short time Beanie. We were the same - my dad brother and sister in 3 years. That was 30ish years ago now though.Thankfully it was my dad first as it’d have broke his heart.  I have lots of lovely memories of them all - particularly of my eldest brother he was one of life’s charmers with a wicked sense of humour - he was the biggest shock though as my dad and sister had poor health….my brother was a very sudden heart attack.
I bet your mum will just love the party Beanie……old photos will evoke lots of lovely memories for everyone. What a lovely thing to be able to do. The oldest anyone in my family has ever reached is 73…..which is my only surviving brother….the proverbial creaking gate as he has been very poorly lots of times….I’d love to be able to celebrate his 80th with him 🤞
We had sausage, egg, chips and beans for tea. The eggs were amazing. Definitely better than shop ones. I’ve not had anything like that for ages 😋
I did some number crunching today, cancelled my dd to the union now I’m not working. I’ve decided to keep the HSA which pays towards glasses and dental treatment for now. I’m going to take £100 cash a month out for the window cleaner, hairdresser and Slimming world and any extras the inevitably crop up and to put cash away each month for my great nephew and nieces Christmas cash. In theory there should be cash left which will be put on one side for treats. £30 from last month has gone to my Micky Bubble trip fund. Anything else will be paid for with my cc and paid off weekly and included in my spends diary.
How do I put a total of my spends in the signature rows on here……

One of my cousins is the oldest anyone from my mum’s side of the family has ever lived at 75. On my dad’s side I had two great grandmas live to see their 100th birthday.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

When my ds was about 7….just after the time my dad died at 70, by sister at 46 and my brother at 50……He sat looking very thoughtful and when I asked if he was ok. He was so serious and must have been thinking  said ‘ mum - I really hope I take after my dads family’ 😂😂😂😂😂 right out of the blue. He knew my mum had passed away at 60…… Dh family have mainly lived into their 90’s.😂 it must have been on his mind😌

Sobering reminders here to appreciate family members while they are with us. But also of how delicious freshly laid eggs are! we always tend to buy at the roadside when we're in the islands - not so many places near home that it's possible though. In more normal times there are a couple of campsites we use that have fresh eggs from hens on the site and we always bring a couple of boxes back.
