I totally agree that I don’t take the crapola from folk as I used to.
£25 spent this morning as my hairdressing neighbour has been over and given my hair a chop. Feels much better. Not sure what the rest of the day has in store…..maybe begin putting the decorations up. I’ll see what dh fancies when he returns from his ukulele session.January spends - £587.581 -
I would agree that as you get older you get less inclined to put up with being treated badly. I have been examining friendships over the last year and dropped a few who expect me to make all the effort every time. It has essentially given me time back for the things and people I value now.
Glad you got your hair done and you feel better for it. I have certainly found out who my friends are whilst I’ve been off work. Some people I’ve thought of as friends haven’t even messaged me. I know life is busy and everyone has their own life and problems…..one person in particular has given the impression to others that she is in touch. I’ve not heard a dicky bird from her…..she will get in touch with me before I contact her. Whereas others have texted every now and then and I’ve met a couple for walks and coffees….I’m more than happy with an occasional ‘hello’ The one I hadn’t heard from put a message on FB saying we’ll have to have a leaving do for you…..she was my immediate boss and friend….so I put the ball in her court saying to organise something as she is in touch with everyone and that it would be lovely- like I say - not a dicky bird. I will meet the ones I’ve stayed in touch with over Christmas. Cor - I’m turning into a right Moaning Minnie.
Christmas decorations are still packed up upstairs. So today I’ve done a bit of washing, Hoovered up and warmed up leftovers for dinner and not a lot else…..
Slimming world in the morning. I’ve had some treats but overall think I’ve done ok….better than I had been doing anyway…that’ll do nicely as I’m not expecting perfection. I’ve not obsessed about counting everything but stayed in the ballpark figure. It’ll be what it’ll be. But I feel a lot better about things since I changed my mindset 👍I’m not sure yet but might be meeting ds in town to look at the Christmas market’s tomorrow afternoon

A busy day yesterday.I went to SW in the morning had a lovely chat with friends. A lady I used to work with was there 😁 I lost 1 1/2 lb. I want to loose 1/2 next week as that will take me into the lower stone bracket 👍
We went on the tram to big city to the Christmas markets. They were ok but just didn’t feel the same. We had a nice meal in our favourite Greek restaurant. Dinner time special - 2 courses for £11.50 . We haven’t been there for a long time but weren’t disappointed 👍
We Jumped in ds car and went to renew our Costco member. We split the fee between us so it works out ok. A quick nosey at the Christmas decs in the big shoppers mall across the road from Costco - we didn’t go in any shops. I didn’t sleep very well last night as I ached everywhere so an easy day today. The Christmas tree will go up today…..I just need to remember what I did with everything last year - can’t remember what I did with the chair. Pre alterations I used to put it in front of a door as we walk through the kitchen to get to the hall…..we can’t do that anymore 🤔January spends - £587.582 -
Milann have a look back on here, I *think* you posted a photo showing the tree up, so that might give you a clue about how you did it!Your meal out sounds tasty, I like Greek food too.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

That’s what I did EH. I knew where we’d put the tree…..didn’t know where I’d put the chair which is usually where the tree is. I’ve sorted it. I’ve put the tree in the opposite corner from last year. Another problem I had is we have collected quite a few Lemax battery operated Christmas ornaments over the years …..most brought as presents. Before we had the renovation I had a sideboard and the really looked lovely’s as Christmas village……said sideboard is no more. Last year we left them packed away as I didn’t think we’d be ready for any Christmas decs, I was impressed we managed the tree. Anyway despite Dh having his Eeyore head on and insisting nothing would fit. I’ve managed to set it up on a shelf we have behind my settee. I doesn’t look as good but I’ll get used to it.Jacket potato is in the oven and I’ll have some bolognaise with it watching Strictly.
The gks are very excited as they are going to see Lion King in London as a birthday treat, I bet they’ll love it.
I’m going for a few days on Monday so I dare say I’ll hear all about it.January spends - £587.582 -
Problem solved. The chair was upstairs whilst the builders were in last year and stayed up there until after Christmas as we were having any visitors and didn’t need it. It was after Christmas I started the revamp on them….which is still looking good 👍
I went to a local street market this morning- it was a tad early but dh U3A group were playing the ukuleles. It was lovely - quite Christmassy. I saw a couple of children from school. One boy I worked with was so excited to see me and said his news tomorrow will be that he’d seen me 😍 This is the same little one who asked how many candles I’d had on my birthday cake. I joked and said it isn’t polite to ask a lady her age…..he took it as a challenge and tried to guess (he was only 5 at the time) ‘Miss have you had a telegram from the queen cos you get those when you’re 100’ 😂😂😂😂😍
Ds came around and I did a chicken cobbler for tea which was lovely. I’ve just wrapped gdds birthday present ready to take with me tomorrow. I’ll be back Wednesday or Thursday. There’s a chance I might get to watch the Christmas shows but I’m not holding my breath as it could all change with Covid.January spends - £587.583 -
