    Why no cake Beanie?
I did nip to Mr S as I needed a bag of sultanas, cherries and butter, I had everything else in 😁 so it cost me £6 and they sent a 500 nectar points if I spent a pound…..would have been rude not to. Didn’t buy anything else either 👍

I don’t like Christmas cake or Christmas pudding, never have done. I feel like I’m missing out sometimes 😆

  • Just caught up on your diary and sounds like you have lots going on. The motor home looks great so I am sure you will enjoy lots of trips in that. Nice to hear you enjoyed the Drifters show. I am booked to see it with my sister in London next year. We don’t do Christmas cake here as it is only me who likes it.  DH can’t stand sultanas etc as he claims he was force fed them as a child by his mum.

Quite right! Since milann has been retired on the grounds of ill-health, she certainly isn't fit enough to stand for hours making extra cakes. The older I get the more militant I become on behalf of myself and other people. 🙂

No I didn’t make a cake for the relative. Dh agreed with me too 👍 I decided relative was just as capable as I am…..granted 10 years older but this person doesn’t do anything except moan……no hobbies except going around the shops and expects everyone to do everything for her…… she doesn’t cook and has no friends. No wonder she is always bored I actually feel sorry for them but I’ve done as much as I can to help her and it’s all one way 😏 moan over 😶🤬
I had a lovely morning this morning. I went to a craft group at a local U3A group. There were only 10 people and they seemed friendly enough. £2 for a contribution to the room and craft stuff - i came away having made a non too shabby Christmas bauble. The lady who ran the group was a 92 years young. Hope I’m like her at that age. It was quite a mix of ages - most about my age but several quite a lot older.
I made some lovely koftas for tea. SW friendly too👍😁

Count me in as well, I sometimes have to come off social media as some people and their comments wind me up and I have to stop myself saying it is as it is. A few family members have dropped off the radar and I’m quite happy about that. Don’t know if it’s age related or just that I can’t be doing with like beanielou says above the crapola these days.xx

I think maybe when you are younger you think maybe it's just me who doesn't want all this rubbish around my life so I'll have to deal with it.  Eventually as you get older you start to think that no you really don't want all this so start shedding it.  I was lucky that when I got a new job in a small co that really the only person that I worked with was quite young & had a mortgage & the boyfriend had moved out & was no longer contributing rent.  Ideal opportunity to suggest no prezzies.  Then whenever anyone new started that was what we said, no prezzies.  I have to say I think most people are relieved when they find out.  It is the same with all the other rubbish we put up with on a day to day basis, frankly life is too short.
  • I've said for a quite a while, as I get older my idiot tolerance threshold drops apace - I'll take a LOT less carp now than I would a few years ago! I'm also learning to give people less "second chances" - a second chance now is literally that - if they subsequently let me down, or behave badly to me again, then that's that, they will be politely sidelined.
