Milann's life keeps getting in the way.......

I went to SW this morning. I had a great laugh and was welcomed back with open arms…it felt good 👍 I’m going to enjoy the food and not stress about it at all. It is what it is and if I loose I loose, if I don’t I don’t. I’m just going to enjoy meeting the lovely folks there, have a laugh and with a bit of luck it’ll all fall into place.
I went to the pub with the lovely decorations yesterday. They didn’t disappoint. I wasn’t hungry enough for the 3 course Christmas menu but did enjoy what I had. Home made steak pie with chips and veg. Plus a large rose wine to help the afternoon along (the company was a bit hard going at times 😳😏) But it was an ok afternoon and had to be done. The pensioners special wasn’t available…..I suppose they were busy enough without having to draw folk in. We had a lovely drive through the countryside and little walk in the park and Pavilion. Dh sister enjoyed herself although she’d had her flu jab in the morning and wasn’t feeling great.
After I’d been to SW this morning we popped into town where they had a pop in covid jab place. So we both had our boosters as we’d both been under the weather and we’re waiting until we were ok. I must remember to cancel the appointment I have for 1st December at a church a couple of miles away that I have no idea where it is. Much easier to pop along this morning.
This afternoon is a chilled afternoon watching last weekend’s Strictly Come Dancing 👍January spends - £587.582 -
Lazy day yesterday and this morning. I do need to go out and do some shopping later - the fridge is looking decidedly bare. I’ve taken some mince it of the freezer and it’ll be spag Bol tonight. I’ve not had that for ages …….used to be a Saturday night regular when everyone was at home. Might just have a cheeky Bacardi and coke with it watching Strictly later.January spends - £587.583

We didn’t have snow forecast…… but nobody told the snowflakes they weren’t supposed to fall here. We’ve had the white stuff and it has stuck - it’s freezing now so although I went with dh to see ds today, it was crisp and not slippery……I’m not venturing out in the ice. Glad I went shopping yesterday. £60 spent yesterday on shopping and a few Christmas bits.January spends - £587.580

Be careful because a work friend badly broke her ankle on the ice today. She’s currently in hospital waiting for an op to fix it.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

Ouch to work friend. Hope she’s/he’s on the mend soon. I absolutely hate the ice…..especially since I’ve had the elbow ops. It’s instinct to put your arm out to save yourself. Last thing I want is to mess it up. You take care too….don’t want to mess your leg up again.
it was awful over night - freezing fog. 😳 I’m so pleased I didn’t have to go out to work this morning. The ice has scuppered my Christmas cake making day though as I need to go out to buy ingredients and that’s just not happening.
Catch up tv isn’t working for some reason but t’internet seems ok. Ds has had no internet since Friday. Hope they’ve sorted it as he is still working from home.January spends - £587.581 -
Ouch to broken people - hope your friend is operated on and back home SA.Milann, I hear you on the worry about putting dodgy limbs out to save yourself, it’s 36 years since I broke my elbow but as a result it would still be very easy for me to dislocate it if I landed wrong so I still get a bit concerned about it. 😬
Hope your TV and DS’s internet sort themselves out soon, too.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Tv and internets are all back working again.
I’ve just had a mushroom omelette for breakfast and twas very tasty…..even though I ate it whilst on the phone to a lovely friend.
I’m just going to get my recipe book out and see what I need to make Christmas cakes. I’m late this year as I just couldn’t motivate myself. But today’s the day. I love my double oven for the cakes. I’m in a bit of a dilemma whether to make a small one for a relative. It sort of happened after my mil passed away….relative said ‘I’ll have the cake you make for her then’. I didn’t do it last year as we had only just completed the kitchen so I feel it’s a good time to stop. I’ll make a small one for us and one to take to dds and a bigger one for dh boss. It’s a year this week since we had the flooring put down 😳 doesn’t time fly when your having fun 👍
im expecting a ‘catch up’ call from DWP later…..why do I always feel nervous about them. It is what it is…….January spends - £587.580 -
I would agree that it sounds like a good time to see a natural break-off point in making the cake for your relative - to be honest the "demand" sounds a bit cheeky in the first place!
It's amazing to think this time last year you were just in the throes of having the kitchen done!
Hopefully the DWP call will be just a formality and will all go smoothly.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

It all went smoothly with DWP - she told me I had an appointment on 10 December with a healthcare professional to assess whether I am fit enough to work. I received the letter confirming this after the phone call. She told me I must stress the worse day scenarios.I’ve just made the cakes, it’s all I’ve done all day and I still have e to wipe the kitchen down. I am happy to report there wasn’t a weevil anywhere to be seen 😁👍😁 I had to sit whilst doing them and am pooped now. I had to keep swapping hands as I couldn’t hold the mixer properly 😏 but they are smelling rather delicious. I only made a 6 inch and couple of 8 inch ones. When I think I used to make wedding cakes with the base 14 inches 😳 - I couldn’t do it now. That is literally all I have done I couldn’t do the intricate icing either as I can’t squeeze the piping bag like I used to. At least I did it 😁😁 Got to decide how to decorate these - something easy. It was a joint effort tween myself and Mr Milann last time I iced a cake….he rolled out for me 😉January spends - £587.580
