  • Glad to hear your throat is getting better. I really need to clean out my kitchen cupboards but I keep putting it off 😀

It was the moving dust bits that made me do it OBL…..not seen any more so hopefully that’ll be it 👍
So ive emptied the 3 drawers….also a corner wall cupboard and the cupboard with my cups in. Ive thrown lots of stuff out…..I expected to see signs of weevils in my dried produce cupboard……not a sign. Everything is in sealed plastic boxes 🤔🤔🤔🤔mystery where the bits in the big dish came from. At least it’s in the process of being sorted now. 1 side of the kitchen with the most cupboards is virtually done……just got to remember where everything goes and put it back now 😳😳😳😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

So everything is back in its rightful place in the kitchen. The best thing we bought when we did the kitchen was a mini step ladder……..which has been in its packaging until ds put it up for me a few weeks back. The cupboards are so high -  much easier than the chair I usually use, i am suitably shattered. I still have 1 cupboard to do on that side of the kitchen but I’d had enough….nothing will need washing though as it’s my tin cupboard……and dh spice boxes - which he said he will sort and label…….he’s been going to do it since we had the kitchen done last year.
I found the source of my creeping dust - weevils - from a bag of gramm flour dh uses occasionally. Everything else is in plastic tubs but that isn’t……when I opened the bag 😳😵‍💫😳🤢😳😵‍💫. Hopefully I’ve seen the last of them now but I’ll keep an eager eye out 😉

I’ve got a bag of gram flour I only use occasionally, not in a container, I sprinkled a bit on my sweet potato wedges tonight without checking it for weevils so may have inadvertently eaten one like a bush tucker trial in I’m a Celebrity🤢 🤣

It can happen in a sealed tub too.  The "eggs" seem to be in the flour when you buy it.  I had them once & now examine flour before I use it.
  • I agree @badmemory, we’ve had weevils, so I started decanting new bags into sealed Tupperware. Left one for a while and I swear it was like an ant farm when I looked in 🤢 I put it down to the damp Scottish atmosphere as it’s so much worse here than in my last house…or maybe I’ve been unlucky. I daren’t keep flour in now if I’m not using it straight away.

It must be weevil season as someone on the BBC Good Food FB group has just posted about them. Some good suggestions in the responses. I must admit I was very vigilant using some already opened polenta tonight, scouring it for signs of life 🤣 Blooming things 😡

So far so good. I haven’t seen anything crawling today. 😳. I’m scrutinising every spec of dust or crumb i see 🤞😂
Somebody has turned a tap on my nose this evening …..not sure if the remnants of the bad throat or something new. Whatever it is I wish it would ‘do one’. I’ve finished the antibiotics so will see how it goes….
I got up this morning and emptied the fridge and freezer…..both are cleaned and sorted to an inch of their lives…..and woe betide anyone who messes them up 😉 mmmmmm how many pork chops do you need for 2 people living in a house…..think they must have been on offer and both me and dh bought some and just threw them in there 🤔 I need to be more organised and get a grip on things.
This afternoon we went to a local caravan shop to look at buying new sleeping bags in readiness for the arrival of the motorhome. They were packed in sealed bags and you couldn’t feel the fabric. I wasn’t paying the money they wanted as I can’t stand ‘squeaky’ padding in material…..and I couldn’t tell…..once the bags were opened I wouldn’t like to try and get it back in if I had to take it back…. I’ll use the old one we have. The caravan shop is just around the corner from a friend so we called in there and dh treated us to tea in her local pub. Twas very nice…..nothing fancy - scampi and chips but it was red hot and tasty. My friends son has just got rid of his caravan and sent us a box of caravan bits…..it’s  still in the back of the car so no idea what we have. One thing we did buy was a couple of glasses- which will do for wine 😉👍or any other drink. We’re keeping equipment to a minimum so a couple of glasses will do 👍 it was on the way home my nose started running…..and it’s not stopped 😡
Ive done everything on my lists except pay my cc so I’m quite impressed with myself.
So - I’ve cleaned most of the cupboards on one side of the kitchen, 1 to go, I’ve  defrosted the fridge and freezer and I know what we have got in there. I’ve washed and changed my bed. All is going to plan 👍
    Tomorrow
breakfast - cereal with berries and banana
I should be meeting a friend for dinner but that depends how this runny nose develops - we cancelled last week so I’m hoping I can make it.
Then I’m going to chill as I’m shattered.
Tea will be the rice and something from the freezer I’ve been threatening all week.

Saturday - we’ve been invited to go bowling with my brother and his family….. I’m hoping to go but depends how I feel.

Sunday - I’m being treated to see The Drifters 😁😀 a birthday present from my friend.

So a good weekend planned 😁👍
