I'm finding calorie counting works so much better for me than SW, it's much easier to stick to and control my portion sizes. I'm another one who's eyes are bigger than their belly 😀

I’ve just been into town. I needed to get out. We had a voucher for a free coffee at the revamped costa pushed through the door yesterday. It would have been rude no to use it. Very nice it was too…..I’m sure it tasted better for its price 😁 I bought youngest gdds birthday present. I just want to get a pair of slippers and a Frozen umbrella for her….apparently she had spotted them in TKMax last week but true to form they’d sold them….I’m sure I’ll find them easily enough though.
I bought some Harry Potter material to make a little gift bag for a bracelet I’ve bought for eldest gdd for her birthday. It’s a HP charm bracelet which she’ll love but just on various bits of card - I want to make it look special.  I’ll probably have enough to make a cushion or something too.
I parked in Mr Ts where you get 3 hours free. I got back to the car and it said 15.10 on my car clock. I’d checked my watch and it was 12.00 when I parked. I’d gone 10 minutes over….I’d accepted I might get a parking fine and was cursing my free coffee…..I hadn’t realised I’d been so long. 😂😂😂When I got home I made a cuppa and sat down to drink it. It was quarter to 3 according to my clock 😵‍💫😳😏the penny dropped……..I hadn’t altered my car clock and I’d only been 2 hours 10 minutes 😂😂😂😂😂😂 so no need to worry about a parking fine after all 😁
I popped into the walk in covid test centre but I’m sure the throat is just the usual one I get every autumn as I don’t have a temperature, continuous cough or loss of taste. If I do need to phone the GP for antibiotics I know the first thing they’ll ask is if I’ve had a test.
November spends £40…..I have 3 birthdays to buy for this month so I know it will be an expensive month.

    January spends - £587.58

I know it’s a bit late in the day, but I put £50 on an Asd@ Christmas savings card. I’m going to put some cash on every week until mid December. I used to do a combination of Asd@ and Morrisons but haven’t for a few years…..since cash isn’t as available as it was when I was working I plan to save each month for next year - right from January 👍 I need to start planning and budgeting better than I have been doing 😁
I need to look at my bank to see if I can set up different pots for different things instead of leaving it all in one account. That’ll be my job for next week 👍

Yay to free coffee 🥳 I bet you were relieved to see the correct time 😆 My bank lets me set up different savings pots so yours should I would imagine. I save for Christmas all year round by shaving oddments off money that goes into the bank or bits left over. It soon mounts up.

I bet your eldest DGD will love her Harry Potter charm bracelet milann, and what a lovely idea to personalise it with a homemade gift bag. 👍
As @Sun_Addict says, your bank will probably have some sort of savings pots you can access online. If they don't, you can download some really simple free savings apps. Or just go the old-fashioned route and use a good old paper notebook and pen!😃
Glad to read you're feeling better today. 👍

  • The gift bag for the bracelet sounds good😊  I used to buy stamps from Sainsbury's years ago to save up for Christmas but now I just put the money in a savings account each month starting from January, if I haven't got anything to spend it on I usually start my savings off with the two months free council tax money to get things off to a good start 😊

Beanie the lump sum came through just before the gks arrived so I’ve only just looked at my totals properly. I’ve just spoken to DWP and the monthly works pension won’t affect the payments from them as it’s under £86 a month. Things are looking better than i thought they would be. It’s half of what my wages were but I can manage on that’s long as dh doesn’t do anything silly like popping his clogs 😂🤔 I shouldn’t even joke about that 🤞. The crunch time will be when these payments finish in May as I’m presuming the household income will exceed the limits for Universal Credit- no good worrying about the future….a day at a time me thinks 👍 I’ve never been more pleased I paid all my debts off.
I've just had to go out and rescue next doors cat….it still walks around the fences and never comes down other than into it’s own garden via a tool box as a step 😜 anyway another cat was on the fence and they had a stand off with snarling, teeth and claws….all whilst balancing 😂😂 I threw a handful of gravel towards them and other cat scarpered. Next door cat hid under some garden furniture complete with war wounds.
No spends planned today so November totals should be £0
Sorry if I've misunderstood but I thought with contribution based ESA it was available for a year?  Longer if you are placed in the support group and I didn't think you would have a decision on that yet.

    peb~~yes, you are right.
So you should get ESA for at least a year & longer if you are placed in the support group.
