I know - they’ve been watching the forecast closely. The little break isn’t working out as planned- they can’t do the walking they’d planned as dd is still suffering from her broken foot….and weather looks rubbish. At least if they get there they can stay in the hotel and chill for a couple of days.
I’m not convinced my voice will last out. I’m not sure if I had a reaction after the flu jab as I felt ropey and my throat has felt strained since. As I’ve been talking more with everyone being here my voice is giving up on me….it’s not particularly sore just scratchy iykwim….January spends - £587.581 -
We’ve been over to ds house today with the gks. They love to visit him. They don’t seem bothered that their Mum and Dad have gone away for a couple of nights. We visited a home made ice cream shop by a canal with a lovely short walk and a fitness style wooden children’s trail then back to ds for a Disney film, games and tea. Great fun was had by all. They both crashed out in the car on the way home so it was straight to bed for them once we got in about 8 pm….not heard a peep from them.
The plan for tomorrow is a trip to a seaside town with a tower and illuminations - so it’ll be a late night for them….their Mum and Dad will be back on Saturday afternoon…..providing there aren’t floods in The Lake District 😳😳 then a curry and Strictly Halloween before they head home on early Sunday morning. Luckily they aren’t in school until Tuesday so will have a chill day Monday. Think I’ll need a chilled week 😂😂😂January spends - £587.582 -

My voice has given up completely. I can just about whisper….the youngest who is 5 in December is whispering back to me 😂😂😂😂
We headed to the seaside this afternoon to see the illuminations. It’s roughly about an hour and a half from here…maybe a bit less on a good day. GKS thought it hilarious that this is our nearest seaside as they are used to walking around the corner to see the sea. A couple of rides on the pier, 50p worth of 2ps in the arcade, fish and chips and walk along the tableaux lights so a good day was had by all. We spotted a rainbow and won a prize each from hook a duck…..the stall holder recognised their Southern accent and he grew up in the next area from them - so they did well and got a top of the range bit of tat rather than tat, tat 😏they were thrilled with them anyway. The crashed out as we got back in the car so we didn’t actually drive the full length of the illuminations as they were asleep 😂😂😂and it’s the slowest I’ve ever moved through them…..it’s always stop/start but this evening it was more stop than start. I’m expecting arguments and tears tomorrow as they’re both shattered. I spent £20 ish as ds and dh paid for most of the day 👍January spends - £587.582 -
