In reality we’d already said we wouldn’t go away for a proper holiday in August. I’ve been tied to school holidays in what seems like forever….first with the children then my work. Going out without children running everywhere is quite nice. We had hoped to put it to the test before the children broke up. On a plus it’ll have a newer registration plate for when we re sell 😋 Talk about high demand though. The forecourt was full last time we visited in August….every van they had in was sold except 1 that was only dropped off that morning 😲😲
Today has been a NSD for me and the food plan has stayed more or less on schedule. I’ve had a lovely potter around the garden - half hour bursts between sitting down. Dh has ordered me the half parasol that I’ve had my eyes on since last year…..the alternative was he’d build me a gazebo style structure…think he chose the better option 😂😂😂 which is what I wanted😂😂😂😂 I knew he’d see it my way when he thought about the alternative 😂😂😂January spends - £587.580 -
We used to take our kids out of school early September to avoid crowds in Devon and Cornwall, obviously this was pre fees era, you just needed to fill in a holiday form and it was sorted. I like to be on holiday for my birthday which is in August so have to pay extra, trust me to be born in peak holiday season 😩🤣I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

SA my birthday is at the end of September so maybe we will get away by then 😃
I’m not sure how today will pan out……I’m going to a friends for afternoon tea. I used to work with these ladies a couple of jobs back and we still meet up a couple of times a year. One of the ladies recently underwent surgery for breast cancer so we’re all getting together to spur her on. I’m not sure if it’s a fundraiser or just a get together. I will need to take a little something with me but I’ve no idea what…..the hostess doesn’t drink so wine is out. I might see if I’ve got enough for 3 bunches of sweet peas and take each a little bunch.
Spends - not sure- as little as possible
Food
breakfast - a sausage butty
dinner - afternoon tea 😋
tea - a salad of some sort
exercise - in reality probably not much
positive thought - laughs and putting the world to rights with friends - we’ve all had issues over the last few years but when we get together you’d never know 😀
I’m getting on with the cardigans for gks…..I’d previously bought buttons and think I’d thrown them thinking the bag was empty. I’ve bought a 2 nd lot and can’t find them anywhere. I need to empty all my cupboards and wool bags because I really don’t want to buy a 3 red lot 😏🤔😳 I know they’re int he house as I remember showing them to dh ….

All is well in Milann’s world again……I’ve found my buttons. They were in a brown paper bag and I’d been looking for a white one. They were where I expected them to be but I didn’t find them until I’d been through and sorted all my knitting bags and cupboard 🤔 at least I’ve given everything a real good unexpected declutter 😃I’ve managed to cut enough sweet peas for both ladies…..one has pulled out because of high COVID numbers in the school she works in - just to be on the safe side.January spends - £587.580

I’ll admit your talk of buttons makes me shudder. I have a lifelong phobia of them, I really don’t know why, as far as I know I’ve never been attacked by one 😆 It’s my worst nightmare to come across a bag of them 😱One of my cousins is the same.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Good job we’re not all the same SA. I love buttons they often make the garment….I could happily mooch around a craft shop with pretty buttons for ages. Phobias are so strange….makes me wonder what would set a button phobia off……..🤔🤔 intriguing.
The market stall I go to was charging coppers for a cat face button…..they were 80p each online 😳😳 it’s been run by the same old gentleman for decades.
I had a lovely afternoon yesterday. I can’t believe it’s only 7 weeks since my friend had surgery…..she is doing amazingly. Thankfully she doesn’t need chemo. I took a couple of small bunches of sweet peas and they were thrilled with them. They smelt amazing.
