Milann's life keeps getting in the way.......

Hairy my mil had a pre paid funeral and it made it so much easier than when I lost my parents. It’s basically to make life easier for whoever is left behind and so they don’t get trawled in paying for ‘extras’ because they want to give us a good send off. (This happened to a friend of mine by an unscrupulous undertaker) Plus as Badmemory said it can have some advantages financially. But there’s pros and cons to both. I just want a simple send off.
It has been a glorious weekend here and we went to ds yesterday and had a walk along his canal. Today he came here and we walked along our river. I am so stiff and sore now though and know I’ve done too much. It was worth it though as it was beautiful. There was a house that backs onto his canal for sale.....I was very tempted. It quite surprised me that it wasn’t nearly as expensive as I’d expected......but it needed a lot doing. It was in a lovely position though and a 5 minute walk from ds. Another pipe dream 😂😂😂😂 as I couldn’t go through the upheaval.
I have a meeting with the head teacher and HR on Thursday so I need to get in touch with the union lady. If she isn’t available I’ll have to change it. Then apparently the pensions doctor needs to get involved. I’m hoping he agrees with the occupational health - I don’t see why not. Not sure how long the procedure will take - I just know I’ll be glad when it’s over.January spends - £587.581 -
Since I am in Australia and family is in Canada, I have arranged and paid for a simple end. No funeral, ashes delivered to a trusted friend and released into the river where my best friends ashes went 2 years ago. Total cost $2000. Divide that in half and that is what it would be in your money. Eve

Thanks Eve....it’s certainly food for thought.
So today I need to get in touch with the union lady. I’ve got all her details written down but can’t find the book. Need to go through my phone and e mails to find her.January spends - £587.581 -

So Marvellous March is here?
My March target is to focus on the positives and get SW under control. Get the house sorted and organised.....and hopefully I might know how much I’m going to have to live on once the pension kicks in so I can plan.So my positive thoughts for today
- spring is on the way...flowers are blooming and the days are getting longer
- I’ve got the notification for my vaccine
- I’ve been rocking SW today with omelette for breakfast, soup for dinner and beef, veg and potatoes for tea
- no spends plannedJanuary spends - £587.582 -
I’ve had a letter for my vaccine today, too late I had it a week ago 🤣 Another one here hoping for a more focused March.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

Agree with the simple funeral - that's what I want. On a lighter note I did tell DD as a joke once that I want a send-off like Kirk Douglas had at the end of the film 'The Vikings' ( younger readers won't probably know what I'm talking about!). She googled it on YouTube and said not a chance as she doesn't think she can fire the fiery arrows far enough to hit the longship floating on the loch!🤣
Glad to hear the pension and retirement plans have been coming along. It won't be long now.Good luck with the vaccination on Thursday!👍Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

Lol on the theme of Viking funerals SSG have you seen the film with Billy Connolly, I think it’s called The Holiday (or something similar) - I loved it 😂😂
So the builder came today to put a lintel above the window to stop it leaking. It’s ended up having the side of the house pointed 😲 (up to where it’s half rendered) WHY does a simple job always turn into something else. So an extra £200. Hopefully he will come back tomorrow to finish off. My car has an inch of building dust on it.Painter friend has just finished the painting. He’s popping back later to make sure it has dried ok. I’m in 2 minds whether to ring the shop to see if the carpet can be fitted on Friday instead of Monday then I can get on putting everything back in there.I’ve been sewing a bit more of the chair today. All the sides are now done and I’ve nearly finished a panel on the back.
I’ve got a chicken with lemon and garlic in the slow cooker.....it’s smelling really good. I went to buy cold meat at weekend and it was awful and they wanted £4.50 for 3 slices of chicken. I bought a full chicken for £3 so that’ll do tea for a couple of days plus plenty of lunches 😀 I’ve got my MSE head well and truly back on as I’m not sure when I’ll stop getting my half wage from work and I’ve no idea what the pension will work out at yet. I’m presuming it won’t be until next month when it all goes through.January spends - £587.584 -
I would ring the shop they can only say no chicken sounds delicious1
