I’ll see what dh thinks tonight about the carpet shop as we need to get the old underlay up and maybe fit the curtain rail.
I’ve just had a phone appointment with the consultant about my hip. He said a hip replacement will be on the cards eventually but he was pleased the steroid injection made a difference and will ring me again in May and if needs be give me another one....if not will discharge me until I need him again. He is really lovely.
I thought I’d broken my finger - a plate slipped off the draining board and I went to catch it but trapped my finger between the worktop and plate. I watched it balloon up and go purple in seconds but it’s just fleshy no fracture. Good job I’m not wearing any rings on that hand 😏think it’s put a stop to my sewing today 😡 just when I was on a roll 🤪

Lol on the theme of Viking funerals SSG have you seen the film with Billy Connolly, I think it’s called The Holiday (or something similar) - I loved it 😂😂

I haven't seen that film milann. Will have to have a look - I like Billy Connolly!😀
You've certainly been on a roll what with the house and your sewing!

So my positive thoughts for today
    - bedroom painting is finished
    - hopefully the work we’re having done will stop the damp and rain around the hall window.
    -  the sun shone down on me as I was sewing the chairs
    - I’ve stayed in the SlimmingWorld zone 👍
We’ve decided to leave the carpet delivery for Monday. It will have chance to dry properly and I’m busy Thursday and if the weather is like this on Friday myself and dh can go for a walk instead of having to stay in. I can stay in on Monday when dh is at work.

SSG - the film is called What we did on our holiday. It’s got rubbish reviews but I liked it. It’s a family/kids film and an easy watch for a day when life needs taking slowly 👍

Oops to the house job turning into a bigger job,I hate it when that happens. It's good that you have got your painting finished and will son be able to put the room back. I was thinking last night I might see how much it could cost to get someone to paint the wall up my stairs because its too high for me to so safely,I did it last time but it was very dangerous and I was younger and less accident prone, I can do the downstairs and landing just not up the stairs

OBL I love decorating and am quite gutted I’ve had to give in and get somebody in. It’s a friend who gives us very good mates rates who has done ours. In return I’ve made their wedding cake and various special birthday cakes over the years and dh looks after their computer. So win win really. My dad was a painter and decorator and  i was his ‘gofor’ from being tiny. The smell of paint just takes me back to him.
I’ve asked the builder who was here yesterday to level off some flags outside. I’d asked his boss last year but nothing has happened yet. Hopefully he’ll come back with a reasonable quote and I can make my little shady nook I wanted last year fairly soon. I’d seen a mini greenhouse in Wilko which was lovely. It was a bargain too about £50 cheaper than any others I’d seen....£60 and it was wooden and quite cute. Which is why they were probably sold out 😏 I’ve asked to be contacted when they have them back in stock. This will stand on my old dining room table which I’ll paint in grey outside paint. Dh can store his stones and things he needs for the railway under the table and I can do a bit of potting above. Then a screen with fairy lights and on the opposite side of the screen my shady nook.....I’ll also paint an old shelving unit and put some big lanterns with solar lights inside. I already have the lanterns just need the lights.....that’s the plan anyway. I’d love it to be a little arbour but it’s a tiny space and budgets can get silly for things like that. So thinking cap and MSE is the way to go once it’s been levelled. But first I need to finish my chairs and make bunting 😂😂😂 People keep asking me if I’m bored off work - NO.....but I do miss the people.

Your little nook sounds lovely. I’ve always wanted a Tiki bar in the garden. I’ve got a little slabbed area that would be great for a structure of some sort and I thought I could make this look like a Tiki bar. I know what it’s like when you’re used to doing things yourself then have to start paying someone to do things. Mr SA used to do most of the DIY/gardening but is unable to do so now. I’m not very good at this sort of thing and struggle for time with working full time and looking after Mr SA. So I feel your frustration.
