Lol it’s been a bit like Piccadilly Circus here today. Painter friend has been and gone after putting another coat of paint on. Can’t do anymore until it dries. Carpet man brought samples and measured up so carpet is ordered and will be fitted on March 8th to give paiter friend plenty of time to finish. I’ve had 2 deliveries. 1 for me.....medical supplies and one I thought was the material for the bunting but is for the same number door but the next avenue along 😡😡 I’ve been around and pushed a note through their door to let them know the parcel has been delivered to the wrong address. I’ve got a couple of people coming around to pick up things I’d advertised on our local reuse and recycle site. Bits of material that were snapped up 👍 So busy busy busy 👍 I’m going out for a walk before the 1st of the people come to collect things. The recycle site has only just reopened this week - I could have put loads of things on there when dh emptied his room but they’d shut it because of COVID....they’ve decided the risk is lower now so re opened it.

I bought a dress at the beginning of last summer - a straight shift dress from Next. It still has its  labels on as I was going to slim into it 😂😂😂😂😂😂 well that didn’t happen. I was going to pass it to a friend but I decided I might shorten it and use the material I take off it and put triangular panels in to make a smock styled top. Not sure if my sewing skills will run to this but nothing ventured and all that. BUT first I need to finish my chairs 😏watch this space 👍🤞

Haven’t you finished those chairs yet, what are you playing about at 🤣🤣 Great idea about the dress, it sounds do-able.

SA - I’m the worse at starting jobs and not seeing them through 😂😂 but I started having real trouble with my arm so gave it a rest and I’ve only got a bit left to do.....about 1/4 of a side and the backs, which are easier than the sides 👍  Right off to do a bit more 😉

Been doing some finances this morning. Going round in circles and giving myself a headache 😏 I’ve had a regular saver which has finished and been looking for a new one 😳😳 no joy. Undecided whether to change our current account form Santander to elsewhere. The more I look the more confused I’m getting.

So we tried looked online at cash a cash ISA at the Leeds building society but the instructions re transfers from another isa weren’t particularly clear to us so we jumped in the car and went and spoke to an actual person in branch without an appointment or anything. It was so good to be able to ask and get questions answered quickly. Anyway we didn’t take the paperwork needed for proof of identity to open a new one. We nipped back home got what we needed and dh has gone back to sort them out for us both, I’d already signed all my bits and was impressed I’d even remembered my NI number so didn’t need to go back  - dh couldn’t remember his NI number....which worried me a bit as he’s always just reeled numbers off...... Lol we’ve  got an old fashioned pass book which I haven’t seen for years. It is just so much better to go in a branch - no stresses - just bliss. Interest rates aren’t brilliant but at  0.5% better than what Santander are offering atm. Anyway we have picked up leaflets about pre  paid funerals too. Not a nice subject but it will make life easier for whichever one is left.
I’ve just had some paperwork through from work but can’t cope with looking at it now after my morning of banking so will look at it later after my brain has had a chance to recoup 😂

  • My parents always get great service from the Leeds BS and have a passbook as well. Don't blame you not wanting  to read anymore stuff after your busy morning.
    Enjoy the sun.

😡😡gggrrrrr....so dh went back to the bank as the lady in the bank had suggested. I had to wait in for GP consultation. The first payment from Santander went through brilliantly however the 2nd payment wouldn’t go through 😡😡 I suspect because it was an unusual transaction for us. So we need to try again tomorrow. When he arrived back home he’d had a security alert from Santander pity he didn’t see it when he was in the bank. I suppose it’s good they were protecting our money but was frustrating too 😡 as we wanted to get it all sorted today 😡 Anyway 3rd time lucky 👍 We will try again tomorrow.
I spoke to the GP who is sending a sick note out, I wanted to fill her in with the goings on at Occupational Health. It’s been quite nice as I’ve spoken to this same doctor the last few times. It’s usually a different doctor each time.

When you are looking at the work stuff, I agree that you need a clear head.  Please remember though that if you have any worries about what decisions to make there are some very very knowledgable people over on the pensions part of the forum.  They are very good at explaining the benefits of all the decisions you may make but obviously will not tell you which one you ought to make.  They are very careful not to give advice as that can get them banned.  I am prepared to bet that one of the first questions you will be asked is have you checked out the status of your state pension!  It really isn't irrelevant especially if you are in a DB scheme which I think you are.  You can use an unknown username to keep it private.
Re the regular saver, my son's is about to end & the interest for his new one is going down to 1%.  Mine ends in May & I'm hoping that it only goes down to 1% from the 2% it is currently.  I was very surprised that it stayed at 2% last year to be honest.
