  • You  have been busy with your walks @milann Very envious of your seeing a kingfisher. DD2s bedroom is used for our granddaughters so they sleep in the same room as their mum. Lilac walls sounds lovely. My GDs love pinks and lilacs and they are real girlie colours. The bunting sounds nice. Grey carpet is good for a small room and even non essential shops are doing click and collect so try their website or ring them up. We bought a tv yesterday using click and collect and that is not essential. We had to just knock on the door to collect it (very strange with a big electrical superstore).

Thanks everyone. 😂😂Last time we decorated I felt a tad guilty because I’d pooh-poohed every idea dh came up with. I wanted grey carpet in my bedroom  - a mid grey - in the shop dh decided he liked a dark grey with speckles - it wouldn’t show the dirt up (we’d previously had beige) I’ve hated it since the day we had it put down - reminds me of a on a shop floor. I’m very tempted to replace it when we decorate our bedroom even though it’s only about 4 years old. Our room is next on the list but we need some plastering doing under the bay area. The blooming dark carpet shows every bit of fluff 😲
I’m actually going to order some carpet samples as I need to feel the quality 😂 I’ve been given a load of patterns for smock style tops from my friend who is a whizz at making clothes - the 1940’s coat she has just made for her daughter is amazing....so am raring to get my sewing machine out but I just CAN’T buy material online. I NEED to feel it 😂😂😂
im taking it easy today as I feel I’ve been kicked around my middle - I need the swimming pools to open so I can build my muscles up. My core is still very weak but it’s been through a lot in these past few years.
Right I’m off to do a bit more sewing on my chairs. I’ve not touched them for a couple of weeks.

Not much to report. I went for a walk to my favourite place and had a cuppa with dh  - we walked home along the river so it was the furthest I’ve walked for a while. I was totally done in afterwards and dh cooked tea. Twas a tad windy. This morning I’ve been cleaning a chair we are taking to it’s new home at ds house. It’s a computer chair the children bought or dh when they’d left home and dh set a computer room up and I set a craft room....then the gks came along and to accommodate everyone staying over we had to forgo the luxury of our own fun rooms and make room for z beds, toys and a double sofa bed. So the chair has hardly been used and just gets in the way and moved from place to place.
We popped in B&Q for paint....painter won’t be impressed as he prefers delux paint and I’ve got B&Q own make as they did the lilac I want....I’ve used B&Q loads of times and find it ok. The room is ready for when decorating friend comes and I have a carpet man bringing some samples on Wednesday morning. The builder who didn’t show last week is coming on Tuesday to sort the leaky hall window.
Since we got rid of the caravan we’ve been debating whether to get a static van, a little motor home or just go away every now and then. We haven’t been away other than to relatives and 2 nights in Scotland since the caravan went -I do miss it. Anyway we were debating again after watching George Clarke’s Small Spaces where somebody built a camper van.....so depending what happens at work - it could well be on the cards again. I wish the shops were open so we go and see what’s out there before dh looses his enthusiasm again 😂😂😂 I have to strike whilst the iron’s hot with him as he changes his mind so often 😂😂😂😂😂says the most indecisive person in the world 😏

We used B&Q paint in our bathroom and Wilko’s paint in our kitchen and both were great. I don’t rate Dulux these days, the quality has gone downhill.

A camper van would be fabulous, just think of all the places you can go once lockdown is lifted 😁
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

We used to always use dulux but not anymore we found it was very poor quality compared to B&Q I have also had wilko own make and we were very impressed and they do some lovely colours
  • You and Beanie should confer on paint colours she is having a lilac theme as well.

I know SSG - was reading her diary before. Great minds think alike and all that.....😂😂😂
Lol 😂😂 dh is currently watching Million Dollar Motorhome 😂😂😂.....in my dreams I’m afraid .
Been over to see ds today and went for a walk near his house. I feel quite lucky we’re in a bubble as a change of scenery is very nice. Feeling a bit stir crazy now though....and I count myself lucky having a garden and places I can walk to...roll on everyone getting their vaccines so we can begin a bit of normality.
Forgot to say I have a phone appointment with Occupational Health tomorrow.....I’ve tried to put it at the back of my mind- getting in a state about it won’t change anything. I think I’ve thought of various scenarios....it’ll be what it’ll be. I’m a great believer in fate 😏👍

  • I read once that lilac colored paint on a bedroom wall can make some people feel nauseous. I considered it once after MIL came to visit. lol Eve

I’ll take the chance Eve - thanks. The girls have a fair bit of lilac in their rooms at home so I’m sure they’ll be fine.
I’ve just spoken to the doctor from Occupational Health he is recommending Early Retirement through ill health. Next steps will be consultation with the pensions people doctor for their assessment and HR. End of an era. In a funny sort of way I feel quite relieved but I’ll miss the children....and the wages. I’ll just have to tighten my belt. But when I think of how much I was spending paying debts off I’m sure it’ll work out ok. He asked if I would consider redeployment- I said there’s no way I could work in an office or work on a computer 😳😳
