  • Such a shame for your brother and SIL that the can't see one other. This horrible virus is causing so much distress. ☹️
It's sounds like you're nearing the end of your kitchen odyssey thank goodness!  Smiled at the thought of your hubby piling up your new table so quickly. Fingers crossed everything goes into the cupboards soon!

So yesterday morning I set to putting things in cupboards.....all was going well until I realised my dinner plates wouldn’t fit in the wall cupboards. The cupboards are slightly slimmer than my old ones.....so everything I’d put I my bottom cupboards had to come out so they could go in there 😳😳 I didn’t get that much done as ds came around (he’s in our bubble)  I cooked for us.... Middle Eastern style chicken, sweet potatoes with feta and oregano topping and roasted cauliflower with tomato and garlic dressing. It’s ds favourite. We had a lovely afternoon and he stayed ages and used the facilities in the new bathroom several times 🤫. Although it’s still got a few snagging issues to be sorted it worked well and once fully sorted should be really good 😀😀 There’s still a lot to bring downstairs and find a home for but I’ll do it bit by bit. Dh can carry the boxes down and i can find homes for everything.....if it hasn’t got a home it can go to the charity shop.
I’m in quarantine now until Friday. I go on Tuesday as a day case for the steroid injection. I think I’ve broke my little toe. It is a lovely shade of purple. Only I could do it......I got up to go to the loo in the night...lost my balance.....tried to steady myself and put all the weight of my right leg on my little left toe 😳😂😳😂 i couldn’t make it up 🙄🙄

Not a lot planned for today. I’ve watched my Sunday morning gardening programmes in bed. I might put a few bits in the kitchen and plan to do a bit of knitting on the jumper for me and on the one for gdd.
I’ve had a couple of NSDs again 👍
    Have a good Sunday everyone.

  • Sorry about your toe, hope it isn't too painful. Fantastic that DS came round and found the new facilities easy to use . Glad you found a new place for your dinner plates, I bet you end up moving things round until you have been your new kitchen for a while .
Is your appointment at the local hospital or do you have to travel ? Enjoy your knitting and a rest .

My appointment is in a very local hospital and is a private one.....I’m going as an NHS patient though. It will be interesting to see if there any difference. The doctor is absolutely lovely and I have every confidence in him. I was reading through the notes he sent a while ago and I just scanned over and put away....sometimes there’s only so much medical stuff you can’t deal with at a time and I’d just come out of hospital. It appears I have a cyst in my hip and well as torn lining and arthritis. No wonder it’s giving me agro 🙄 ah well 😊
I realised my slippers were a real state and very nearly asked dh to take me to get some....instead I had to send him out as I can’t go out. Anyway he came back with some lovely ones from Shoezone (following my directions  of course 😂😂😂) a bargain at £7. Last time I bought M&S ones at £25 hoping they had more support - they didn’t. They fit lovely on one foot but I can’t get them over my sore toe....hopefully I can by Tuesday 🤞😳😀

Ouch to the toe it sounds painful, my slippers from next are very supportive but were £18 I think. I bought them because my old ones had got loose and I nearly fell down the stairs, these are a bit more structured so shouldn't stretch, I also bought them on the tight side so when the fluffy inside went flat they would still fit, they fit me really well now😊
The meal your son cooked sounds yummy

  • Sorry to hear of your painful toe - rotten luck. ☹️ Hope it's not broken.
Glad to hear that DS is using the new facilities. 😀.
I had the same problem when I had my new kitchen fitted in that my dinner plates were too big for the new wall cupboards. However I had ordered some cupboards with frosted glass fronts for the opposite wall to put my glassware.   Anyway the plates fitted so I ended up putting all the crockery in there instead!

OBL - I cooked the meal for him.....the first time he’s been here properly since January. It was lovely as we sat at the table preparing food together 😀😀 it was rather tasty,  recipes from a Persian cook book called Persiana. I’m really pleased we’ve had the alterations to the house....even if I feel I’ll never be straight again 🤪🤪
I was very tired today so I only put some food into 1 cupboard and sorted and cleaned a bookshelf in my hall which had become very dusty with all the builder’s dust.....virtually all cookery books. I’ve culled a few cake decorating books as I don’t think I can squeeze the icing to make the delicate flowers I used to make.  I’ve got all the bags of food in the kitchen now from the bedroom so will sort through some more tomorrow and put the glasses in their designated cupboard....I cleaned and covered them a week or so ago 👍 I  hope they fit where I plan them to go🤞🙄 I might even get around to doing a bit more stuff since I’ve had a nice restful day today.
l have done some knitting and dh made tea....roast potatoes, veg with  left over chicken from yesterday.
I really need to write a list of what I want to buy for people for Christmas. I can honestly say I’ve never been so late of felt less Christmassy. I need an injection of Christmas spirit....it’s just not like me at all 😞
