Thanks ES and Beanie. He has been so poorly so many times - he is 73 now and to be honest even on a good day seems much older as he has endured a lot over the years. I’m not usually too worried about him as he’s like the proverbial rubber ball that bounces back but for some reason I am this time. Think it’s to do with the general concerns of life atm. You watch he’ll be home driving his wife mad before the end of the week 🤞🤞January spends - £587.583

Just caught caught up with your diary - sorry to hear the news if your brother - sending positive vibes and good wishes to him - try not to worry too much 🤞🤞🤞🤞
Wow! You have been busy lately with the kitchen. As beanie wrote: what a palaver! Still once it's all finished you will be pleased you've had it done. I always think that any home renovation work is like childbirth - incredibly painful at the time but you then forget what it was really like!😆. And yes - we will want to see the pics of the new kitchen!I know what you mean too on keeping the dvds. I still have quite a few but stream now. But if my internet ever goes down at least I will be able to watch the dvds!😄Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

Brother still undergoing tests and not much improvement. A friend of ours from Scotland passed away today, he is particularly close to her. I spoke to him on the phone, he still sounds very weak and he didn’t know, so I didn’t tell him about her. I’ll leave it to his wife to pick the right time.....hope I’ve done the right thing......
The tiles are coming along nicely......although it has shown that the corner wall unit isn’t straight, it’s probably the wall that’s out and thrown it. You didn’t notice it before the tiles went up and now I can’t unsee it....too many straight lines 😏 The builder is coming back tomorrow to finish and try and sort it. He actually pointed it out to us.
I was loosing the will after all this so after all this. I’ve had my eye on a post from a wool shop, which is a 10 minute journey from home, for a tunic style jumper for me. It looks quite easy and it’s the marbled wool that gives the Fairisle (ish....in fact very ISH) look. So I’ve treated myself. It wasn’t much more expensive than buying it on line and keeping a little shop going. I’m doing an Aran style cardigan for my gdds but find it quite taxing and want something I can do without much thought and I can work between the 2 projects. I’ll take it to hospital on Tuesday.
We popped to IKEA after tea and bought the new dining table. Dh will put it up tomorrow. We also took £20 worth of bits back that we picked up last time and didn’t really need....they just ended up in the basket...as they do 🤪 I’m learning.....I’d have thrown them in a drawer previously 👍 It wasn’t as busy as I thought but we still spent best part of 2 hours in the shop 😳😱😳
We have snow and rain forecast tomorrow.....they can keep the snow 🌨❄️🌨January spends - £587.582 -
Sorry to hear about your friend milann and hope your brother feels a bit better today. You've probably done the right thing by leaving his wife to break the news gently to him at the right time rather than hearing the sad news it over the phone. And I hope the builder managed to sort out the tiles today. How nice to have a new table too!😀
Hope you missed the snow. We did down here but had teeming rain all night long and most of today. Cold today too - brrr,🥶Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

We had some snow but lots and lots of rain too so it didn’t come to anything.
The builder came back and ended up taking a wall cupboard off and re fastening it so that it was straight......Dh took some things back to Howdens that weren’t used but were put on the order sheet by them. He asked for a refund on these items. They refunded some BUT a very long worktop shaped package - it only just fit in the car with the boot slightly open 😳 was apparently park of the package for fastening the quartz worktop down as were 2 packs of metal strengthening rods 😳😳 The manager wasn’t in and the lady couldn’t refund on them as they didn’t have individual codes- just the overall package around £150. The manager is supposed to be phoning- we want to know are the worktops safe if these items haven’t been used - if they are safe why are they in the package if not needed. He also complained about the fitters attitude and the way he took some items with him - circular saw and expensive drill bit.....but left the rubbish with us. We will see what transpires.
I’ve been trying to sort things out today. It’s been one step forward 1 step back 🤔😂 Don’t think I’ll ever be straight. Dh spent the afternoon assembling the table. It fits nicely where I wanted it. By the time I’d turned around dh had filled it with stuff from upstairs ready to go in the cupboards 😳😳

Forgot to say there’s not much change with my brother. His wife sounds really upset that she can’t visit him. They’ve been married best part of 45 years, drive each other to distraction at times but think the world of each other and are lost when they’re separated.January spends - £587.583
