I’ve just found out some sad news about a little one from school 😢 when this child was 6 she had a brain tumour - underwent all the treatment, beat the odds that were against her and came back to school - an amazing little one - used to have a head of black curls but lost it and it grew back with lots of bald patches......anyway she virtually got to the 2 year of no cancer mark but it’s returned with a vengeance. She is having surgery this week.....puts life in perspective as she is still only 9....
     This week I’m grateful for
    nice walks with pizza
chance to recover from said walks 😀
a bedroom to escape the chaos of builders and painters
a dh that has looked after me well today 👍
amazing nurses and doctors that will do their best for my little friend 👏👏👏 even though the outlook isn’t the best

No parent should have to go through that!  They must be devastated.  At their age the child's friends should not be having to face so much either, well none of us should.  Sometimes life can be a little rubbish.

Thanks Beanie and I agree badmemory - and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone but even when she’s poorly she thinks of others and is generally just a lovely natured child. Like you say life’s just not fair sometimes.
Anyway I slept well last night and feel revived again. I’ll have to learn to pace myself more 🙄 I have a trip to see the nurse later and we might pop over to see ds if he’s not busy as tomorrow the painter is coming over to try and get a bit more done before the kitchen is delivered on Monday as he can’t make it today.  We need to move some bits out of the cupboards that are still in there too..... I don’t think there’s a lot but there again I think I’ll be surprised once it’s all taken out ...busy busy busy.....at a very slow pace for me 👍
I need the bathroom vinyl to be ready soon so that we can get the toilet plumbed in. I can’t wait now to get straight.....it’s beginning to drive me mad.
I have  had a good few NSD s but when I’ve spent it’s been on big items for the kitchen....will do some number crunching once everything is paid for 😳😱 Whatever we’ve spent though is cheaper than moving house.

That’s dire news about the little girl. I hope she can fight it again, fingers crossed. Bless her it’s so unfair.

I'm sorry your NT visit wiped you out so much Milann. It's easy to overdo it after a major operation. I'm really sorry about the little girl at school too, now sad 😥.

I'm sorry too that you feel you may be being forced to retire before you're ready to 😕. It's a good idea to involve the union as you belong to them. Didn't the trust you worked for provide a pension scheme? My school is part of a MAT but they seem to have a reasonable pension scheme (or is that different to a trust?).

I'm glad the Wr3n kitchen is cancelled, you wouldn't want two kitchens turning up 😳. All the upheaval will be worth it when your lovely new kitchen is finished and decorated 🙂 .

It’s been a funny old weekend here. I visited the nurse on Saturday and went for a very short walk in a local park, then visited relative and had tea at his. This was to stay out of the painters way. I’m quite good at staying upstairs out of the way when I’m on my own but dh is a bit like a caged animal and gets restless.
Yesterday dh was moving some things to make space for the kitchen which arrived this morning 😱😱 I’ve got boxes EVERYWHERE. One of the builders arrived 15 minutes before the delivery to help the drivers and organise it to how he wants it for tomorrow when they’ll start installing it.
No sign of the utility room vinyl yet...they said delivery would be within 5 days - apparently it’s still en route from Belgium 😡😡😡😡 I know we’re living in strange times but the man in the shop assured us it’d be with us in a couple of days 5 days at most.....wish they’d say how it really is at time of ordering.
l’ve just had a phone call from unison and there’s no one available for the day of the meeting so I’ve e-mailed school and Human Resources to see if it can be changed....I’m still very torn about what I want to do. Atm I honestly can’t see myself going back but I’m pretty sure just the work pension without the state pension won’t be enough to live on. I know I’m expecting the inheritance but that’ll cover a holiday or big bills- no where near  enough to live on until my state pension kicks in. I’ll have to see what figures they come up with. I’ve no idea whether I’d qualify for any other sickness benefits longer term as I know how much they’ve tightened up and seen for myself some folk working who just aren’t fit....plus I’d need something to carry on paying my stamp towards my state pension. I really need some advice from the union me thinks 🤔🤔 I’m getting myself in a tizzy....it’d be easier if the whole thing were taken from my hands and work finish me. I’m a typical Libran and weigh things up too much 🙄🙄 can’t make a decision to save my life.

You should be able to claim ESA & PIP.
Phone your local CAB for some advice.
Hope the vinyl comes really soon.
