I took my washing to ds and I thought I’d jinxed his washer too....it was making a shocking noise.....when I took the wash out one of my bra wire had come out and was stuck in his machine. Hope it hasn’t done any real damage. I could end up buying him a new one.....
Hotpoint said they’ll come out tomorrow to our machine but we've requested they come when dh is off on Thursday....will see what they have to say.
We went to Costco today - mainly to get out.  You’d have thought the world was coming to an end.....no beans, canned tomatoes, bake yourself bread or chicken portions - I regularly get these -  I have been splitting with my ds as it works out slightly cheaper than the shops. Toilet rolls were limited to 1 pack per member - I didn’t want any so didn’t bother. The queues were horrendous - we very nearly gave it up as a bad job but we’d been waiting a while and decided to sit it out. I bought potatoes and a cake but ds bought a few frozen items. We had a quick lunch there but again the queues were shocking. Folk were buying bottles of water like it was going out of fashion....are the taps going to run out like in the story The Tiger who came to Tea?
We were going to call in to see my brother but he has decided to self isolate as he is over 70 and vulnerable with his previous ill health. My worry is he is also vulnerable of feeling down when isolated.....I’m not sure which is the lesser evil there. Definitely a worrying time. Here’s hoping everyone adheres to sensible precautions and isolates when unwell so as not to put others at risk.
Im going to pay my cc in full later. Still feeling very pleased I’ve managed to stay DF for so long. It’s absolutely crazy - I’m very reluctant to spend any money atm as I never want to get into debt again. Yet when I was in debt I’d add to it without too much thought...... I feel I should splash out and book something to look forward to.....but don’t know what or when or of I want to part with my cash - so I won’t bother - I’ll know when the time is right.

It is slightly bonkers but if they're suggesting many people may need to self isolate for three months then maybe they're trying to stock up for that long 😱🤣.

I presume your school is still open? It does make you wonder if they will re-open after the Easter holidays which is two weeks away for me.

Not having debt is such a lovely feeling .

HH school  is still open but there’s an awful lot of rumour and speculation about early Easter holidays meaning a 4 week break. I’ll believe it when I hear it officially as everything is up in the air atm. Then there’s rumour that we will need to go in to do a deep clean.....and yet more speculation that we have time taken from other holidays..... The Year 6 children are on tenterhooks waiting to hear if a 2 night residential is going ahead in a couple of weeks- they’ve really been looking forward to it. I think folk are worrying more about what might be. I wish we knew the real facts - but nobody does......

Yes, one of my worries about this social isolation is the low mood that will definatly come with it.

I am the opposite of you at the moment & just have this total urge to go & spend money.
Need to snap out of it.

I called in Ald! On my way home from work for some salmon to go with some whoopsied asparagus dh bought over the weekend. I managed to get the last pack.....all the meat shelves were empty. I bought a bottle of milk and wanted to get some paracetamol for relli with broken leg. Not a chance.....so I went over to Mr M which is across the road - I got some paracetamol but they only had a few packets left - no milk, meat, bread or lots of other food In there. I feel sorry for a lot of people who haven’t got any stock in to fall back on. It was rather eerie in the shop - couldn’t put my finger on it but felt like the calm before the storm.
Typical - I’ve wanted to see Phantom of the Opera for years and we bought tickets a couple of weeks ago - I’ve just heard on the news theatres are closing - we also had tickets to The Halle playing Elton John in a couple of weeks and booked a meal with a voucher for Tom Kerridges new restaurant - the latter 2 items were Christmas presents - I’m hoping we’ll get some money back. It’s a worry for all the staff in these places and many other companies and businesses.
I also nipped in B&M as nowhere had any glue for my false tooth - fixadent or similar - I’ve been meaning to get it ages and really struggled to get the last dregs out of the tube this morning- WHY are folk stockpiling this......can’t have my false teeth flying across the room 😂😳
    Stay safe everyone.

My dad use to tease me with his Beanie 😂😂😂😂 I’d forgotten about it and you’ve just jogged my memory. Thank you 👍 Thinking of my dad - it’s his anniversary this week - 19th and I can’t remember how long - it’s around 30 years......how bad is that, that I can’t remember - seems like yesterday and a 100 years rolled into one. I think of him most day but I’ll remember him especially tomorrow on St Patrick’s day - he always took it as a holiday from work to ‘wet the shamrock’  with a whisky or two - but never got drunk. A very special man 😍

  • It's very weird what items people are stockpiling 🤣.

It's a shame you can't go to the events you've booked but hopefully you can get refunds. It makes me wonder if I'll be able to go to Scotland to visit my sister at the end of July, but I suppose that's a long time away.
