It’s now just over half 5 - my appointment was 10 past 5 and I’m back home with a cuppa. The beauty of going to a private hospital......and that’s driving home in rush hour traffic 😁
There’s arthritis, bursitis and damage to my muscles near the hip joint, a tear in the lining of my hip socket and a healing stress fracture all going on in my hip. He’s taking me into theatre at the end of the month for an injection, referring me for physio and doing another scan in 3 months time to see if the fracture is fully healed. I can’t knock my GP for sorting these appointments out for me 🙂
It wasn’t worth coming home after work so I went to the gym (ok - read restaurant at the gym) which is up the road from the hospital and I treated myself to an omelette and salad and cuppa - I was starving - with discount for being a member it cost £7 and was more filling than a cake and cuppa and better for me too 👏👏 I had a lovely chill time reading the doom and gloom of the virus 😱 in the newspapers there.

You have plenty going on in your hip , I hope the injection helps out. Your omelette sounded good so I made myself one . Glad the family are coming at the weekend especially the GKs . Been to the big shopping centre tonight, in and out quite fast .
Hope DS is continuing to get back to where he was before .

    Good news I think?
Why do they need to do the injection in theatre?

    How is DS now?

Gosh that’s a boat load of stuff going on in your hip 😱 Thankfully sounds like you’re in good hands to get sorted out.

That sounds like a posh gym with a cafe and newspapers. My local gym has a vending machine and leaflets 😂

Thanks folks. Despite my hip sounding pretty bad it’s loads better than it was....I dread to think what he’d have said if he’d had seen it at its worse. Which must have been when I had the fracture and I thought it was ‘just’ arthritis as I hadn’t actually done anything - they think it’s been a stress fracture. But the main thing is - it’s not a tumour like they first thought...😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀 phew......
They need to do the injection in theatre with a local and use an ultra scan as it has to go in a specific spot deep within  the hip joint 😳😳
Ds is going in the right direction but it’ll be a while until he’s where he was. I’m going around tomorrow evening.
It is indeed a posh gym in a hotel 😂😂😂. They’ve spent shed loads of cash upgrading it since I first went in 2006. I pay £300 a year, get 20% off food and drink in restaurant which do quite cheap meals until 4 pm. Price shoots up after that ( I made it in there at 3.55) - presumably to make guests at the hotel pay up...... My local council gym, up the road used to cost me £20 a month - and that’s with a reduction because of medical referral.....it’s full of graffiti- has silly openings as it’s connected to a school and I had to take my own padlock.....in fairness I could use that at any council  gym/pool.....but you have to pay for parking at most of them 😱 So my posh gym feels like a real treat and it’s on my way home from work.  I’d got into a great routine but it’s gone out of the window of late. I feel as if I can start again now though as I’m adjusting to full time work again and not visiting as much now. I could manage a couple of times a week - if not the 3 I was doing. And I need to keep active - use my arm and hip and burn off a few calories.

I had to go to theatre several years ago for an injection into my spine, that was done with a scan as well to make sure they were in the right place,I had a local anaesthetic and it was all pretty straightforward, your GP sounds like a good one 😊

OBL my GP is really good most of the time although there is one GP in the practice that is really rude and refused to give me a sick note as I was recovering from  my arm surgery last year. The consultant at the hospital wasn’t impressed and I think he let him know about it. I try not to get this particular doctor if I can help it. I have been particularly impressed with the speed I’ve had my hip problems dealt with  as I only waited a week after the referral. Whereas I waited 3 weeks for the original GP appointment.....
I had an injection in theatre in my ankle a few years ago so I’m not worried about it. If it works as well as the ankle one did I will be a happy Milann. One into the spine sounds awful. I’m more worried about telling work I’ll need at least a day off work....when I had my ankle done I had to rest it a couple of days to give it chance to absorb, but he didn’t mention that the other day......
I’ve just been to Mr T with my dh - WHY - I’d nipped in for yoghurt and milk.....£58 later. Dh is terrible but at least I’ve got some things for the weekend when dd and gks will be here.....plus ‘he’ bought ‘himself’ (with my money) some computer disks and something else for his computer but since he treated me to a sp00ns tea and put petrol in my car yesterday I don’t suppose I can complain 😏
