I’ve had a horrible head cold the last couple of days - just a head cold, but I’ve been really tired with it. No cough or sore throat but sneezing for England.
Work has been a real effort- I haven’t enjoyed it since I went back at Christmas - not sure why - it’s working with different teachers and joining part way through the year I suppose. I’m finding myself on countdown to the next holidays all the time.
I’ve had the paperwork through for going for the hip injection at the end of the month - a massive questionnaire about previous medical history- could be doing it a while......
Then I need to tell work tomorrow.....it is what it is.

I hope your cold goes soon. I've had a horrible head cold for a week now but no temperature or cough.

Perhaps you enjoyed being off too much ;). The rain and worry about coronavirus don't help.

You probably got used to being off work. I’m sure once you back into the swing of it you’ll be fine. If you have to take time off with the hip it can’t be helped, you have to put yourself first. Hope your cold clears up soon xx

Hi milann - sorry to hear about your finger! Ouch!  However, I'm so pleased the problem with your hip wasn't as bad as previously feared.

Plenty of colds around at the moment - I've still got my cough after nearly a fortnight!   Hopefully we'll all improve as spring takes root and this awful virus will fade away...................

I went to SW this morning, Ive missed the last 2 weeks. I’ve had some very good days and some really really bad days - 8 slices of bread 1 day 😱 don’t know what got into me.....wonder if it was something to do with the cold I had - after all old sayings usually have some kind of truthful baseline - ‘feed a cold and starve a fever’. Anyway I’d stayed the same - I was ok with that but didn’t buy a countdown of nearly £50 to stay the same 😡😡😡😡
I should have been going to a 60th birthday party tonight with a friend but have pulled out - I’m feeling much better with my cold now but don’t especially want to go in a room full of folk whilst my immune system might have taken a battering fighting the cold off.
I went into my local town this morning and done a bit of banking stuff then to Sp00ns for breakfast - I wasn’t impressed - should have been scrambled egg - it was like an over cooked broken omelette and the toast was so dry with no butter on - the worse meal I’ve ever had in spoons - I should have complained but I didn’t.
I came home and blitzed the house - sorted out the rooms from last weekend when dd and gks stayed. Whilst in town I succumbed to spoiling the gks with a sylvanian family toy to go into the stash - so we’ve been adding the stickers and I’d happily play with it 😂👍. Hope I don’t live to regret all the small bits everywhere next time they visit.
I’d done 2 lots of washing and have another 2 to go......as I was hoovering down the stairs  I got a whiff of something burning - I shouted to dh to check the oven as he had some stewing steak in....we couldn’t decide where the smell was coming from....I checked outside - nothing. Then the washer started flashing all its lights and displaying a code. When I opened the door to take the wash out that’d just finished - the machine didn’t smell good at all.  Now a while ago we had a letter from Hotpoint to telephone with our washer’s model number.....we did this and were told ours was ok and to carry on as normal.....it obviously wasn’t 😱😡😱😡 So I’ve got 2 lots of washing left to do - 1 of which I really need - work clothes. Someone is supposed to be getting back to us. So we are going around to ds tomorrow and I’ll be taking my washing around there - even if it’s only the work clothes. Payback time for all the uni washing I did for him 😂😂 I’m less than impressed with Hotpoint mainly for telling us it was ok when it wasn't 😡😡
I’m fairly stocked up with food - I stocked up before I went in hospital last year and have never really let it run down since - the only thing I need is baked beans - none left at all in my cupboard but I cab going out for them. My world won’t come to an end without baked beans if there’s any left in the shops I’ll pick some up next time I’m out.
    Stay safe out there folks.

How frightening about the washing machine, it could've set fire.  Hotpoint seem to have had a lot of faulty appliances and recalls just lately. Hope you get a replacement soon.

I've always got a good stock of food fortunately, the stocks I've got now I'm keeping topped up as I use things but it won't be a disaster if I run out. I've learned my lesson over the past 7 years what with Mr SA being so poorly, then me breaking my ankle, then me breaking my leg, always keep a good basic stock in.

  • I still have a small Brexit stash in so have got 8 tins of chickpeas, 6 tins of tomatoes, 6 tins of potatoes, 5 jars of pasta sauce, etc, Still not a huge amount but I'll try and keep it to that level and replace them as soon as they get used.

I'm glad you don't have to worry about any family members going abroad at the moment, even though it's disappointing for them.
