Glad you had a nice time away. Great that you are able to repay CC. Hope that you recover quickly and that in the meantime your doctor is supportive. Not being able to lift much weight must be very restrictive. You seem to have remained cheerful despite it.

Been a few busy days here.
I went to the docs on Friday - he suggested leaving a tablet I take off for a month to see if it makes any difference to the blotches on my legs - I’m not convinced as it’s happened before I took these particular tablets, but not as severe. I suspected a different tablet I take but he says not...but the tablet’s risk paper in the packet suggest it :oHe also said it could be a form of varicose veins with small vessels bursting. I suppose this makes sense to me but since I got the impression he thought I was exaggerating until I showed him the photos - what do I know.... He gave me a sick note for another 2 weeks and suggested I see occupational health which I’m quite happy with. So I go back a week on Friday which is an odd day to go back. Well, I think I’d rather see the visiting docs I tend to see as I wasn’t smitten with my named doctor at all. Hopefully I won’t be seeing any doctors for a while though. I have to go for blood tests to see about my clotting levels but they checked all that when I had my op...why don’t they just check records.
Well even if I say so myself myself and dh looked great as a pair of recycled hippies :rotfl::rotfl:we walked in and nobody recognised us:rotfl::rotfl: it was a great night, I even managed a quick dance before my foot started to give me agro and my hand swelled up. I felt sorry for the couple who were hosting the party though....she’d put lots of effort in making it as authentic as she could - even 60s style food. So many people didn’t answer or turn up and the hall was 3/4 empty. I think it’s so rude when folk don’t even reply.

We went to a train show on Saturday which dh enjoys in mid Wales - there’s a steam fair with all kinds of steam powered vehicles and organs plus the train show. We met a lot of people we know and had a good catch up. From there we travelled to North Wales and had a couple of nights in a Premier Inn, it was lovely. We dodged a couple of showers but otherwise it was my kind of weather. We went on a restored train line right through Snowdonia - the views were amazing. Dh has wanted to do this since it was fully restored a few years ago, but it’s quite expensive. Anyway we treated ourselves and it was worth every penny....we didn’t have the holiday we’d half planned to have this year....so that was our justification. We came home early yesterday afternoon when the rain came in - and ate at home so that rebalanced the spend a bit too:D
SW wise.....just mmmmmm....I’ve got a few days to try and claw a bit back.
MSE - new month and a spending diary to keep me focussed and get back into good habits.
I’m half looking forward to going back to work - half a bit wary as I’ll be in different classes to last year so working with different people but they’re mostly lovely- just different to what I’m used to. I go to physio this Friday so hopefully I’ll get the all clear to drive and go swimming...I’m naturally beginning to use my arm more each day so it tallies with the 3 months the surgeon said.

Hi Elnora - you’ll sleep well if you start reading my ramblings.....you are very welcome though:beer:
I meant to post I’ve had several credit card offers through recently - offering me 0% balance transfers - it was a lovely feeling to know I didn’t need them as I’ve managed to pay in full for a few months now:money::beer::beer::money::money: it made me realise how far I’ve actually come....I applied for every one I got at one time doing the cc shuffle. I got there in the end though :T:T

HHD for the first time ever at a doctors I felt like a fraud......what the hospital and physio told me to do for my recovery and what the doctor implied were at complete opposites....when I tried to stand my ground with him it just felt like I was giving silly excuses. I’d quickly considered complaining about his attitude but all that’d do is give me hassle and stress.....draw a line and put it down to him having a bad morning. Life’s too short to make unnecessary conflict. I will mention it to my physio on Friday though. Onwards and upwards.....next step to make myself get in the car and drive:o.....whoever has nicked my confidence - I need it back :p:p

Yesterday was a NSD - much needed after gallivanting on trains through Snowdonia :rotfl: Got to get a handle on my spending or those 0% credit cards might seem appealing....something I NEVER want to happen again.

  • I hear exactly what you’re saying about your GP. I’ve found something that works for me, discussed and agreed with my consultant and he refuses to go down that route. If I thought there was a feasible alternative, I’d go with it.
