Milann's life keeps getting in the way.......

SG I sat watching the Isle of Man folk whilst dh and ds walked further along the river - I needed a rest- mainly big motorhomes with bikes on the back lining up waiting for the ferry which wasn’t in whilst I was watching the river but we passed it on our way home. I could watch the sea/river all day. I think I need to relocate to some waterside home 😂😂
I’ve had a couple of lazy days where I’m supposed to go sorting out and getting ready for going to dds on Thursday for the long weekend but I’m getting nowhere fast as I keep getting distracted. She’s working Thursday so we’re going to a NT place somewhere en route and arrive Thursday evening. Dh and Ds will share the driving. True to form I’ve been buying clothes for the gks - gorgeous skirts, tops and tights in M0rrisons.....and I’ve got some wool that’ll finish the outfit nicely if I ever get around to knitting. Itried knitting a bit yesterday - so far so good but it will take me a while as I can only do short bursts. Hope they don’t grow too fast
My legs are still looking a real mess - it’s fading to a purple/browny colour. My arm is also sore as I’ve cut the meds right down by 75%...story of my life - the solution for 1 thing throws up more problems:p My toe nail is incredibly sore and slightly loose - so I’m pretty sure it’s connected to meds as when I checked with Mr Gooogly - that’s one of the side effects.
Well:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near t’internet to purchase anything.......my sandals arrived this morning......all FIVE pairs :rotfl:::rotfl: When I was originally ordering I wanted 3 pairs - red, blue/grey and black. However it said the order hadn’t gone through.....so I started again. This time the grey/blue ones were out of stock so I went ahead and ordered the other 2 pairs. It all went through and acknowledged payment. I was a bit disappointed as it was the grey ones I really wanted as they were unusual for me. Then when I answered the door this morning and fella had an ENORMOUS box - he even carried it in for me and..... when I opened it - voila - 5 pairs. I checked my bank and they’d taken both payments. Anyway I’ve phoned the company - the lady chuckled laughing and said to return them - they’d reimburse postage and refund the cash for the 2 pairs I didn’t want - and apologised for the mistake. So I’ve never had so many pairs of sandals - all the same style but look different. I’ve not spent much these school holidays - I’m usually flitting here and there meeting various folks - so the cash I’ve saved has gone on my 3 pairs of shoes - I’ve saved £120 on the 3 pairs - ok I didn’t actually need 3 pairs but they’ll last me at least next summer and probably the one after too.....
Right I’m off to buy some soap powder - stripped the bed - put it in the machine and realised I’d forgotten my soap powder yesterday :mad:January spends - £587.580 -

Beanie I can’t do links but the make is Wolky - design Rio, from a site called footwear country. I got the podiatry dept to make a deeper set of insets to fit in the same style sandals I already have. I had to pay for them but they’re the only sandals I’ve been able to wear for years. Even comfortable with the inserts that come with them....designed by a podiatrist. Worth a look for anyone with funny feetJanuary spends - £587.580

Your sandals story is hilarious Milann and the free jammy dodgers were a treat

Today I sent my surplus sandals back :rotfl: went to SW a day early and lost 1 lb which I’ll take with bells on as I’ve eaten out 3 times. I need to get a grip on my eating out - but other folks have paid so it’d be rude not to;)
I’ve packed ready for an early start to ready for ds to pick us to go to see dd. I’m looking forward to it as it feels as if I’ve not seen the children for ages but it was the end of June so not too long really. It always feels like a holiday as it’s at the coast and has a lovely relaxed feel.
We’re going to a 60s themed party next week so I’m going to get a long blonde wig (I have very short dark verging on silver hair) dh is getting a wig and tash then I’m using old white t shirts drawing peace symbols on and putting triangular flare in some old jeans. I’ll buy a cheap tasseled waistcoat for us and we will go as a pair of hippies. All done MSE. I set out to go to the cheap material shop for a the triangular inserts in the trousers - I waited around as it often opens late - realised it doesn’t open Wednesdays. So once home I found an old nightie with flowers on so I’m going to cut that up instead of buying material. It should be a good night. It’s my friend’s 10th wedding anniversary and she is into retro stuff in a big way. She transforms when she gets into her 1940s gear - you wouldn’t believe it’s the same lady - I’m interested to see what she’ll do for her 60s clobber - she’s keeping it under wraps. So my job when we get back from dds is to sort the costumes out. Not sure what to do about my feet as I can’t wear flip flops or heels. I might look for a cheap pair of white pumps and decorate them in colours and write peace with sharpie pens.i do like a creative project
Not sure how speedy the next few days will be MSE wise - we always get treated well but I like to pay my way.....January spends - £587.580 -

Love the idea of free jammy dodgers. Good that you are getting out and about too. I too love watching water... and would love a coastal retreat at some point.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I hope you're having a wonderful time with your DD's family milann.
Your ideas for the hippy fancy dress are spot on. Don't forget the face paint though! You can paint some daisies on your cheeks! The pumps sound a good idea - when I was going through a hippy phase in my early teens it was a bit of thing to wear white tennis sneakers - but it was totally beyond the pale to keep them white - they had to look absolutely grubby to look cool!:rotfl:
