Well I’m being picked up at 9.30 in the morning for the wedding. I think it’s just a meal afterwards....can’t find my invite in whichever safe place I’ve squirrelled away and the lady getting married has quite a complex medical issue which means she tires easily. Since it’s so early I’ll be surprised if it’s a late do. So far my dress hasn’t made an appearance but i know my friend will deliver and is notorious for meeting a deadline at the last moment....so I’m not unduly worried. If it not here by 8.30 in the morning I’ll be panicking :rotfl::rotfl:

I’ve just sat and painted my nails - I did contemplate having them done but remembered how long it took me to grow them out at Christmas. I want to rearrange the charms on my bracelet to match what I’m wearing - should have done that before I did my nails :o

Dh looks like he’s getting bored so we could well be going out for a walk in a while.
I went into my local town with dh yesterday where a new Range shop opened last week and it has an Iceland within. So I stocked up on frozen veg and some chicken portions. I had a look at the SW ready meals - everyone raves about them but they seemed quite expensive so I’ll carry on doing my own batch cooking me thinks. Might be good to pick up for an emergency if I’m in town after work rather than eating out as I’ve been known to do in the past. I could have spent a fortune in there on household bits and pieces but I resisted.

Dh put £2 in my weight loss saving board which I won in the raffle at SW last week...the deal is he will match my weight loss but if I put on I give it back with an extra £ per lb.... I do like getting cash out of him :rotfl::rotfl:so this might be the incentive I need - as well as getting back in my silk dress :T:T I was so gutted when it looked a mess....onwards and upwards.

Had a lovely time at the wedding yesterday - it was just a meal and not an evening do, as I suspected. The bride looked beautiful as did her daughter who was bridesmaid.....and the groom wasn’t half bad either ;) Only money spent was my share into the gift voucher we’d bought.....and I brought most of a bottle of wine home with me. It was a lovely relaxed day catching up with some old friends and generally having a good old chinwag...bride sat with us ages too. My dress was lovely and when I told my friends the tale behind it they couldn’t believe it. I was home for 5 pm.......I ended up going out for tea with dh...there’s a lovely local(ish) pub that does a gorgeous cheese and onion pie, chips and beans for a bogof on a Monday and dh has wanted to try it for ages.....so since I’d already blown my SW I went with him. Back on the SW bandwagon today- hope I’ve not done too much damage....

Chatting at the wedding with friends who are roughly my age - we got around to the subject of retirement ages. Last I’d heard mine was 66 - so I expected it to be my birthday....no such luck.....it’s 66 and eight months :mad:which is virtually another school year for me. I’m not a happy Milann.
I’d consoled myself with the fact I’d knocked virtually a year off since I was 60 and only had 5 and a couple of weeks to go.....then they told me this which has bumped me up to 6 school years again. I honestly can’t envisage what the next 6 years will be - health wise or otherwise.
It had to be someone in a cosy office job dreamt the retirement age up - not a physical job, and my current job is the least physical I’ve ever had. Right I’ll get off my soapbox now.

I’ve not been out of the house for a couple of days - I’d worn different shoes for the wedding - 1/2 inch wedge so not high but my podiatry insoles weren’t in. All I had to do was walk over the car park to the church and from the car park to the hotel - we were sitting the rest of the time - my ankle went a few times and if I hadn’t been with my friends whom I grabbed, I’d have been over. So now I need to muster up some confidence to toddle around to Mr M0rrisons with my granny basket to get some potatoes and milk. The rain and fear of going out on my own isn’t pushing me out the door though:o

I was informed some time ago I could retire in Sepember 2026, then I looked at the pensions website recently and it had moved to January 2027 so I feel your pain :(

Hope you made it out to the shop and back safely.

Beanie he would willingly go to the shops for me - we’re lucky and have M0rrisons and Aldi just up the road - closer than the old corner shop was before the new shops were built. I do phone him occasionally and get him to pick stuff up. I feel as if I stop going for a few bits when I need them - I’ll stop going out on my own iykwim. It’s less than a 5 minute walk - even for me. I’ve got to get out of this.....

I made it there and back in one piece - as I was coming out of the shop the rain came down in torrents rather than just rain which it has done all day. I contemplated going for a cuppa in the cafe whilst it stopped but resisted :A - saving me money and SW points. I waited in the doorway with about 20 others until it eased. I came home and made a coffee and had a mini pack of jammie dodgers instead. See I’m learning :D and I enjoyed them more than cake :D

I phoned the podiatry dept this afternoon for an appointment - can’t do any harm to get new inserts. Because it’s over a year since I’ve been I’ve got to fill in the paperwork again - which they’ll post out. It must be about 2 years since I had new ones. Hopefully that might stabilise me a bit. Surely to save money you’d have thought they could have given me an appointment and filled it in once there. They still have all my records as she read from them. Boy I’m on my soap box today aren’t I :rotfl::eek::rotfl:

SA I was gutted when we checked on line - then they wonder why the younger folk can’t find jobs:mad::mad:
