He did appreciate my efforts and we’re having leftovers tonight - but the crackling was demolished last night so it won’t be as nice without it.
Friend from work is coming tomorrow.
It’s chucked it down all day here - they’d forecast thunder but it’s not appeared yet. So I’ve been catching up on some tv whilst making another baby’s hat. I’ve got a total of 4 now and I’m getting shot of some bits of wool...I hadn’t realised how much I’d accumulated......January spends - £587.580 -
We’ve had torrential rain again all day with some nasty floods around and about. A roundabout and surrounding area about a mile away from here were totally flooded and even made headlines on Beebs news at 10. Luckily we’re fine but there have been so many floods nearby it’s quite scary. And a new road that goes to the airport has only been open a short time and is totally submerged for the 3rd time - not sure what’s going on there, maybe the drainage isn’t sufficient. Thats about 3 miles from me.
My friend from school came around today and we had a lovely relaxed afternoon. I did us a lazy lunch sw style as she’s lost 3 stone too, you’’d Never know she’d just had major brain surgery a syou can’t see any scares at all as they’ve been covered by her hair. She said something quite interesting about being off work long term (she has just returned) occupation health near here are suggesting counselling to help folk settle back in work.....apparently it’s a new thing to do with ‘well being’ that is the new baby and a couple of people at work have been referred.....watch this space as I’m fully expecting another referral to occur health fairly soon.
The weeks are going so quickly Mr M has done his 3 days and is off again tomorrow until Monday.January spends - £587.580 -

I put 1 1/2lb on at sw - it’s what I deserved as I have eaten all sorts of carp this week. I could kick myself because when my friends that do sw come around I do us lovely on plan meals but then when I’m on my own I’m snacking on rubbish - I think it’s bordom when I’m on my own. So the 1/2 stone I lost is now all back.....I’m going to crack this I’m not giving in.....fighting talk :p:D
Well it’s been all eyes on the news here watching the dam in Whaley Bridge. It’s about half an hours drive from me - just in Derbyshire. I’ve been on the canal there for evening meals and end of term gatherings on the boat that does party evenings, and when we had the dog and the children were young we often walked around there. In fact I had a friend who lived in Waley Bridge on her barge whom we spent many a sunny afternoon sailing with. Doesn’t bare thinking about what damage will be done if the dam wall gives. Another friend worked at the school there before she retired and I’ve visited often and spent time sharing ideas as they have a fantastic SEND facility and children go from all over Derbyshire to it...right in the line of fire  At one time it was main route into Derbyshire but they built a by-pass several years ago - probably longer ago than I think.
My favourite, local NT place about 10 minutes closer to me from where the dam is has had a lot of flood damage. I think the actual house is ok but there’s extensive damage to the grounds, gardens and out buildings. It’s closed until at least Monday. I don’t think Mr Darcy would be able to stand in the lake atm he couldn’t even swim as the current looks horrendous (it’s where they filmed Pride and Prejudice.
They are releasing the water from the dam into the river which merges with another to make the River Mersey which runs several hundred yards from my house. Luckily it’s in a bit of a valley and the water should have dissipated by the time it reaches us. They have however released a lot of the water into the flood plains along its length to facilitate it all.
On Thursday we’d had heavy rain forecast again - it was just dire when a friend posted a sunny picture of Wales. So we jumped in the car and went to Llandudno for the afternoon - about an hour and a half drive away. We had a lovely afternoon in the sunshine - walked along the pier and promenade had ice cream and tea - a really unexpected afternoon in the sunshine - a nice breeze - not too hot and DRY. We didn’t get home until 11 pm. Yesterday we went to a different NT property just within the Welsh border. Again another lovely day - we shared a cream tea with clotted cream.....I’ve counted it into my SW planand came home for tea instead of eating out. I’m trying to build my confidence and get myself fitter by walking with dh - I’m fine linking him but still wary on my own.
MSE wise - I bought some craft bits and pieces from the charity shop - non of which I NEEDED and some drinks whilst out and about so about £30 spent these last few days. But I’d have paid much more for the wool and crafty stuff in a proper shop but all the same I didn’t have to get it. Need to keep a check on my spends....
I was really pleased to win the raffle at SW - I do love a gadgetit’s a wooden board with 30 round holes to insert a £1 coin for every pound lost. I’ve talked dh into putting £1 in for every LB I lose but he gets it back plus another from me if I put on....it might just be the incentive to keep me on track :rotfl::rotfl:
Mmmmm.....another long ramble and geography lesson to bootJanuary spends - £587.580 -
Im going on a girlies day a week on Monday to a wedding of a lady I used to work with 2 jobs back. I thought I was sorted - the dress I wore for my dds wedding 6 years ago, I chose it because it’s a timeless piece I could wear again. It’s the most expensive item of clothing I’ve ever bought. It’s gorgeous- blue silk which is screen printed with pink/white and different shades of blue to give the impression of flowers. I’ve had it hanging up looking at it to inspire me to shed some lbs....anyway I put it on and it’s pulling and I feel a mess. I’ve been through my wardrobe trying things on - my 2 nd favourite dress won’t even fasten. I’m sooo cheesed off with myself.
I got dh to drive me to a big M&S to buy a suck-it in and hide-all underskirt in a bigger size than the one I already own (I got stuck in it last time I tried :rotfl::eek::mad::o) They didn’t have any in stock...I looked at some silky trousers but they were £35 in an orangey and black print - but all my accessories are blue....and I couldn’t find a top to go with it. So I didn’t bother.
I have got a black beaded dress but I’m not sure about black for a wedding.....and I’ve yet to try it on.....I’ve just not got a clue what to wear now :mad:
I’m in two minds whether to phone and cancel but I was really looking forward to it. I might attempt a trip to the big shopping mall which is all indoors next week - dh offered to take me but he is about as interested in looking at clothes as I am watching paint dry......and just nods and says ‘yeah it’s fine - do you like it?’ I’d rather go myself and take my time instead of having him hanging around looking bored - not moaning but looking very bored:o:o

Oh no I am sorry to hear your favourite outfit isn't ok. If it was in the late afternoon I would have met up with you in the big shopping centre . I hope you get fixed up , you have to go to the wedding it would be a shame to miss it. Have been watching the flooding with great interest, like you have spent many happy hours round the reservoir with my own children. The NT place looks like it has suffered badly , think it will be a while before it opens again.Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.0
