  • That chia seed and yoghurt dish sounded absolutely yum! A good alternative to my usual porridge. I'm definitely going to try that and shall invest in seeds and cacao today! It'll be great if it helps my BP!:T

Your early present sounded lush as well! Well done on finding something as good and cheaper than the York place!

Enjoy Downton - I'm off to see it tomorrow. I wonder what your friend has to tell you........

Seaside there’s been some jiggery-pokery behind the scenes and a member of well respected staff has vanished from the face of the earth, the staff website included, and there have been meetings of powers that be with stern faces - the most intriguing bit is one one has a clue what’s gone on...no explanation and the name is never mentioned and they have been replaced with a temp and that’s in a place where everyone knows everything. We met at 4 pm and I didn’t get in until 11 last night. I loved the film but I love Downton and then we chatted and laughed all night. She is a good tonic.
The only sad bit was an elderly lady was leaving the cinema and fell down the last few stairs - she didn’t look good was in a strange position and there was a fair bit of blood - I was behind her and can still hear the sound of her head hitting a door jamb. It’s an old cinema which has recently been revamped by a family that have restored several old cinemas in our area. They do them beautifully but there are steps all over as in the original buildings - not sure if she just lost her footings. I don’t know what the people with tickets for the next showing did as they couldn’t get in the cinema from the foyer as she was flat out with first aiders tending to her and I’m presuming waiting for an ambulance. Not a nice end to her evening.
I’ve certainly NOT had a NSD today. I’ve ordered lots of plants from a plant catalogue- much cheaper than the garden centre so I went a bit mad. I should have a nice bit of colour over winter and early spring though. Dh has suddenly got a spurt on and been working on his train track.....first time in a long long time, I’m hoping it lasts. I’ve been pottering and doing some weeding and am managing a lot better to do much more with my arm :D I was beginning to think it’d never improve. My back has been sore though as I must be using muscles I haven’t used in a while...Demic or what
The chia seed breakfast was - Frozen berries of choice, 1 tablespoon of honey (or sweetener to taste) 1 tablespoon of cocao nibs, 2 tablespoons of chia seeds and plenty of fat free yoghurt, I used Ald! Greek. Mix together and soak overnight and best if eaten at room temperature apparently, so I didn’t refrigerate mine, I haven’t come to any harm...but I’ll leave that to you.
Going to see ds tomorrow and he’s making us one of his signature dishes - paella - he does a pretty good one:D then work on Monday - still not 100% sure which child or classroom I’ll be in but friend told me where she is guessing I’ll be...but not sure how official her conclusion is. Will have to see where I end up....

I had a lovely day Beanie
Looking at the position the lady was lying I’ll be surprised if she didn’t break her hip...but I suppose I’ll never know - she certainly wasn’t with it....

All sounds rather secret squirrel workwise milann! I wonder what has happened?! It'll probably all come out in due course though. That's what happened at my little nephew's school.

Fingers crossed that the lady who had the fall is ok.

Your garden sounds as though it will be very cheerful and colourful this winter and spring so the plants sound like a good buy!:)

I tried to buy the ingredients for the chia breakfast bowl at the weekend - I thought I would leave the chia seeds till Sunday and buy them in Aldi but the store was closed for renovation when I got there! On the Saturday I tried to buy the cacao ribs, but both our local refill room and the health-food store were both out of stock! I think you must have lots of people local to me reading your diary and they decided they liked the sound of the chia breakfast! :rotfl:

Hope you enjoyed DS's paella! Sounds lush!

And here's to a successful first day back at work today!

I went to work yesterday afternoon and it was ok. A bit strange in different classes, there are politics going on with some staff about who does what and works with whom - I cant be doing with it. My old boss would have jumped on it to stop it but I’m not getting involved- I work with whom I’m asked to - I’ll happily work with any of the children - it’ll all come out in the wash as they say. I was nearly squeezed to death when I walked in - think the children were happy to see me :D It was ok today again although I can’t be doing with starting at midday - not long enough to do much in the morning and I’m having my dinner at about 11am before I leave so am starving at half 3 when I finish work
After school I went to the pool - spent half an hour in the water - some treading water, some walking and a couple of lengths of swimming. Then I had a good while in the jacuzzi :D My elbow is still quite sore if I do too much swimming but I intend to use my membership :D
I’m in work tomorrow afternoon- off Thursday and in for a full day Friday.
SSG I bought some cocao powder yesterday and used that today - it made it taste more of chocolate - then I just sprinkled a few nibs for texture. I’ve got an appointment with the nurse about my blood pressure tomorrow and I’ve been monitoring it myself at home for the last week or so...borderline high when I do it at home - sky high when doc does it..white coat syndrome :o. Although when I went to see Downton- I had a couple of full caffeine coffees and 3 diet cokes as I was driving...for the following 24 hours my BP was a lot higher - I usually drink caffeine free tea and coffee at home but will drink the hard stuff if out and about.....not sure if it was coincidence so I’ll carry on monitoring and drink the same again next week to see if it’s the same result.
