I know Beanie - I was actually not doing too bad at work but they said a definite ‘no’ it’s too much stress on my elbow. I hope the X-ray hasn’t shown anything but they said it was ok and they’ve always told me all the risks etc as it is - so I need to believe them.

  • Your GP isn't fit for purpose. It's better for you to be off again than to risk harming your elbow. Children do tug at adults sometimes don't they, which wouldn't do your arm any good.

That’s my concern Hairy - and the children I work with are all children with additional needs - they wouldn’t hurt me intentionally but have been known to jump up and down on a person in excitement...or for attention.
I had a day with dh yesterday just pottering around in the garden in between showers - nothing that involved me doing anything heavy but I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Rearranging some of the railway items. We will get it looking good again - dh was really enthusiastic about it too. Think he’s missed me being able to do the garden with him.

:D:D I did it :D:D I got under my next stone bracket which I wanted to do before my birthday....my aim is NEVER see double figures again. In the great scheme of things it doesn’t sound much - but for my frame and height it is 3 stone heavier than I was in my younger years - I’ll be happy to loose 2 of them. Didn’t think I’d do it after my meal out at weekend to the smokery but pulled it back :D

I wanted to continue my pottering in the garden now I’ve got the gardening bug again but it’s been chucking it down all day so far....so I’ve not ventured far from my chair :o
Tonight we’re going to a Beetles Tribute at the local theatre (the one that was in Peaky Blinders last week) if it stops raining we’ll walk and go to the local market beforehand which has a Foodie Friday every month - lots of artisan food sellers and local bands playing music. It’s a great atmosphere even though the food is a bit pricey.
I’m setting myself some challenges - new year and all that.... and will be updating regularly. I intend to keep them realistic and achievable. I’ll give myself my birthday weekend off so I’m going to start on Monday and call my first month ‘Optimistic October’ but set weekly targets within it. I need to break some bad habits and get out of the rut I’ve got myself into. Sooooo.......

    WEEK 1
Target 1 - to use my gym membership at least twice.
Target 2 - to either maintain or preferably loose some weight. As long as it’s not a gain I’ll be happy. It’ll be a first in a birthday week if I do...
    Target 3 - at least 3 NSDs
Target 4 - reduce screen time each day - this includes tv and computer screens - I’ve got into bad habits whilst off work. Do something I enjoy eg knitting/craft/reading or gardening instead.
    Target 5 - Declutter sideboard

At the moment this feels very achievable- I’m optimistic I’ll manage it.
    Bring Optimistic October on :D:D:D:D:D
