Thank you Sunshine, Hairy and Beanie - my birthday was yesterday and despite a horrendous weather forecast I had a lovely day.
We couldn’t decide where to go as it was suppose to rain heavily all day. Anyway there is a train show that we like to go to in the next county to us- it’s usually a lovely drive over The Pennines - dh was reluctant to go as it didn’t seem like my birthday treat. But this show was only on for one day and is in a heritage centre with craft shops, cafes and an antique market - so I wanted to go - I enjoy mooching and it was sheltered. The journey there was a bit grim - the winding road through the Pennines was just awash, there were some lovely waterfalls though....we mooched around the heritage village and train show and had lovely home made cake. Then the sun came out quite unexpectedly and we managed a lovely country walk before heading to a big shopping mall where we mooched around some more. I bought a Christmas present for a great niece who is Harry Potter mad then we went to a gorgeous Thai restaurant before heading back home in torrential rain again. We didn’t get home until about 11 pm and it was a lovely day spent with my dh and ds. I spoke to dd and gds on the phone and had some lovely cards and presents.
On Friday evening dh took me to local theatre to see a Beatles Tribute Band - they were fantastic. How I wish I’d have been able to see the real band. My eldest brother followed them from their early days and saw them at the Cavern had signed items from before they were famous. He was a lot older than me so I was brought up listening to them and they’ve been entwined in many special memories for me. So I had a fabulous night.
Not sure about spends over the weekend though....we went into hobby store in my local town today and dh bought himself some models to go on his railway and....forgot his wallet. I offered to pay....over £60  but I’ll get it back:pJanuary spends - £587.580 -

So far so good with my Optimistic October and it’s still officially September (but it’s my new week)
I’ve done 2 classes at my gym - Zumba gold and tai chi
1 NSD so far
When I came downstairs this morning I turned the radio on instead of the tv. I’ve been painting some model houses for dh and pottering in the garden. Just giving myself a short time on here whilst I have a cuppa.

I'm glad you enjoyed your birthday, it sounded like a very enjoyable day
.
Well done on going to two gym classes.
It sounds like DH is getting interested in his model railway again. At one time you thought he might be losing interest in it.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

A busy day yesterday day. A friend came around for lunch and I was meeting a now real life friend from on here at big mall nearby. I couldn’t understand how I’d scheduled both for the same day - but it was ok I could fit it all in.....anyway I went on the bus to shopping centre as I decided it was a bit too far to drive in case my arm hurt.....I messaged and phoned lovely lady to say I was getting off the bus.....:o:rotfl::rotfl:guess what:eek::o:rotfl::rotfl:..........I was 24 hours early :eek:
Somehow I’d got yesterday’s date as 2nd October in my head. I can only think it’s because I started my October challenge on the last day of September...oops..... BUT she dropped everything and headed over to meet me anyway. We had a lovely chat, tea out and bought some Christmas presents....it all turned out ok in the end.
As for my targets - so far so good.
Screen time was drastically reduced yesterday.
Because of my mix up in dates it means I can have a NSD today
Not sure if thinking about de cluttering my sideboard counts - mmm :think:- thought not. It’s sunny here today so I’ve decided to do some decluttering in the garden instead....January spends - £587.580 -
Happy belated birthday xx
Well done on the weight loss and getting back to the gym.
Glad the hospital over-ruled your GP and signed you off work. Who knows what damage you could've done to your arm by going back to work too soon. Sometimes I wonder if GPs know what they're doing half the time.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Thanks SA - I can’t believe it’s been over a week since I’ve been off again....but it’s been quite busy with my birthday thrown in the mix too.
Less screen time is going well. I’ve been a busy bee pottering in the garden and painting some buildings for the railway meaning I didn’t turn the tv on until after 4So I’m having a bit of catch-up tv time whilst pootling on here for a little while before making a spag.bol for tea:D
NSD today so far
Optimistic October is going well so far:D
