Happy birthday everyone who has one today :bdaycake:
Well, my little car failed its MOTIt is 8 years old, and hasn't cost much so far, so I haven't done too bad. It needs a few things doing, but it could be much worse.
Chalky, I hope your DH party goes well, my BIL is retiring tomorrow, and is really not sure what he is going to do all day - I give him 6 months before he wonders how he ever had time to go to work :rotfl:You're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
DANNAHAZ I heard another wife say 'take your hands out of your pockets' and her husband did exactly as he was told!
Kathy you made me laugh. I had to say that to my DH. he came out of the changing room wearing a Dinner Suit, with his hands in his pockets. I snapped "Get your hands out of your pockets" at him, then had to tell him to stand up straight. Then I had to get him to turn around and walk away from me. Another lady was there with her DH who was buying some shorts, and she was just the same as me!0 -
Morning all,
Why can't you have Nutella out of the jar Natzini??
DGS2 gone to school to-day...no problem, told his parents that it was time they went home...used to creche, etc since he was six months old so hope it stays that way.
Nothing much planned to-day beyond making some pastry and rhubarb and jam tarts, visitors this afternoon and nothing to give them with a cup of tea...time was I would have bought a packet of fancy biscuits.
Frogga...some man you've got there, ignore your neighbours, although it might be an idea to prune the trees.. came home from work a few years ago to find that OH had taken the chain saw to our then only apple tree...no fruit the next year but huge crop last year and this!
Just realised that I have to run for something...back later and hugs to all in the meantime.
16.24...forgot to send the above, have since been to local town to buy shoes for DGS2 with his Mammy and big cousin, made apple tart and jam tarts and finished off shepherds pie for dinner, hung out clothes on line and am now going to have a bit of a browse around.
Hope that you are all having a lovely day

Happy Birthday Patent Girl Enjoy what's left of your special day (especially the takeaway
).
chalky hope you manage to keep it a surprise for DH and that it goes well, of course.
frogga I agree that you should keep the trees if they are so far away from your neighbours garden. I think dannahaz suggested asking them to go halfs on the cost of pruning it - I think that's a good idea.
alibob a baby's name book should give you loads of ideas for a girl's name. As HHester says, don't be influenced by other people. I know for a fact that my mother and a couple of my sisters said "Eilidh? What kind of name is that?" when dd was born. I loved the name and it really suits DD - my family think it suits her too now.
Called DS this afternoon after w**k. He feels much better and the swelling on his face is starting to reduce so fingers crossed the worst is over.
Haven't done much this pm as DS and DD are staying with XDH tonight. dinner will be something from the freezer as I can't be bothered cooking for one. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

So frustrated! A reg savings account matured (mortgage money) so went into town (a round trip of an hour) specially to open up a new one with Abbey. They can't even see me to open the account until next week! What sort of service is that ?? Makes me want to move my mortgage away from them.... (tee hee serve them right).

Been out on the bikes this week, and been out with the dog for a three hour walk today, feel justified in having roast lamb for dinner with cheesecake to follow.
Sisters suprise party went very well, felt very rough the next day, but she loved it, odds-and sods thanks for the advise re the food, there was plenty in the end not too much left over just a few burgers.
Going to put carrots on now hugs to all that need them.

Hi there daily posters- hope you are all well
I have had really good day today:D . Went to Trafford Centre shopping mall to get school stuff for DS(cannot take both shopping at once). Had her feet measured-5G and assistant came out with apair of laceups reduced from £36 to £10. Then DD said they were ok- nearly fainted with joy.:j Now have £20 to put in fund to replace ipod and phone stolen from DS on Monday. Was so pleased I let DD have hot chocolate in Starbucks which I normally would consider extravagant.
P.S. Love the cockerpoo- I have just the poo but got at 3 yrs old so missed the gorgeous puppy phase.
Have a good evening all love DeeDee xxxearn what you can, save what you can, give what you can :hello:0 -
