    PP you amaze me!

Whenever anyone asks a question you know exactly where to get a great thread about it from! You are always posting such great advice!

I'm going to think of a really difficult question today and see if you know the answer to that!! ~ can't think beyond "what colour is my bathroom" , but that might just be a tad too tricky!:rotfl:

    Belated Birthday Wishes Mrs F
(((Mrs Mix))) - hope it gets sorted without too much more hassle

Nothing exciting going on here today, I am doing the usual - paperwork, some housework and ironing though I must admit no real housework is being done here at the moment - will get back into it after next Tuesday.

Need to pop dd down to docs so she can get her repeat presciption (even though is under the hospitals orders) but need to make an actual appointment - waste of our and docs time. Also want to take her to hairdressers.

Didnt have chilli last night so will have that tonight.

    Have a great day.

We have apple trees in our garden on the far side ( away from the neighbours). They asked very nicely if we would chop them down as they cast a shadow late afternoon on their garden.

I just don't want to as they are beautiful but they have made us feel SO bad about it. She keeps saying we are being very unreasonable , and thoughtless and how upset it's making her. I have to keep questioning myself to make sure I'm not being thoughtless et.c.

There hasn't been a row about it but it has got quite difficult. There have been lots of other "little" probs in the past that have caused friction. I keep Mr Frog away from them as he just wouldn't be able to stay polite and then all hell would break loose. Good luck with yours Mrs Mix xx

:D Catznine, do you have the recipe for the plum chutney, I have a tree full and made jam, which tastes lovely, but you have to pour it onto your toast :rotfl:

This is the one I use, you can use almost any fruit or veg, recipe has been in the family for years but I can share ;)

My Auntie Beryls recipe for spicy chutney:-

3lbs apples or any other fruit or veg (I have used plums, marrow, tomatoes)
    3/4 pint vinegar
    1/2 lb chopped onions
1 tsp grated orange or lemon rind
1 dessertspoon each (yes that much!) ginger, curry powder and mixed spice

Prepare fruit or veg and simmer with other ingredients until tender.

Then add 1/4 lb sultanas and 1 lb sugar and cook stirring occasionaly until thick. Pot in the usual way.

Hi everyone-- gosh everyone sounds so busy and positive this morning and so am I

Only 1 day to Oh retirement so I am off shopping in a minute to get alll the food for his buffet with his work mates. Its lovely he thinks only the people who he is working with at the moment are coming but they have invited people spanning his whole career so that will be such a surprise.

I just have to hide all the food this evening so he doesnt spy it.

    Well

Aimee- you are lovely to look after the little ones.
    Catzine - what a sweetie
Charlies Mum- hope your car does well
Frogga- its sooooo good to hear you back on form
    Hugs to Mrs Mix, Catowen.Julia

Congratulations to all those who are celebrating and gentle thoughts to all those who need them
Try and do a good deed every day.
  • Good morning

    Catz your puppy is adorable.
Belated birthday wishes to Mrs Flittersnoop. Glad you had such a great day.
mrs mix awkward neighbours can be difficult to deal with but it sounds as though this needs to come to a head to be sorted out once and for all. I don't have any problem in getting the authorities involved - I called the police regularly to my neighbour who was playing rave music from 11.00pm until 4.00am when I was six months' pregnant. Eventually he got the message that annoying me wasn't worth it as the police were getting really fed up coming out to his property so regularly that they weren't quite so polite as they had been initially.
frogga I can understand you liking your apple tree, they are pretty as well as useful. ;) However, I can see your neighbour's point - to a degree. My neighbour has an apple tree and it overhangs into my property. If he doesn't prune it, it can block out most of the sunlight in my drying area. Have you suggested maybe pruning it back quite severely?
smokey ((((hugs)))) to you and yours.
((((hugs)))) to everyone today - I'm in a generous mood!

Well, DS got on ok at the orthodontist yesterday but his face is still really swollen. So, I have told XDH that he has to phone the doc today for some more guidance on whether the abcess needs draining. We'll see how it goes.

It is so dark and miserable here that it feels like October or November not what should be summer. Of course it is raining, it always does for my Thursday job - or is that just me cos I do NOT enjoy this job anymore?

Off to phone XDH and see how DS is today. Have a thrilling Thursday. xx
