JOHANNASMUM~ don’t suppose you know if the firework championship is on this year? They usually have it in sept some time, but with the fair closing i was curious if they were still holding it this year.
Hiya, yes they are on this year at the beginning of October, is the link.

well, I'm back, osteo was very good; doesn't seem that there is anything else wrong with my foot, but he agreed that forcing myself to walk on it when it hurt wasn't a good idea, but that i should walk on it as much as I can.
I haven' taken any painkillers so far today and yes, they were working, so i'm going to pop one down in a min.
Not sure I'm going to do anything else today.0 -
Hi
Just taking a break from buffet prep--- about half an hour ago the electricity went off and I thought I had had it but all well again now.
Thank you dannahaz for your good luck wishes.
Very happy birthday patent girl!!!
Well had a phone call from OH's work colleagues and I dont hink he is suspecting anything so fingers crossed.
So far I have prepared fillings for sarnies
Made 2 really large tortillas ( and bless them they have turned out without catching) I keep a special pan under my wardrobe that the rest of the family dont know about so cant dig metal implements in !!!
I have made a double batch of olive, onion and 2 cheese scones. ( good old Delia)
Sausages are cooked
Eggs are boiled.
So now I have got the hummous, bruschetta, roasted new potatoes and dip, celery with cream cheese and goat cheese grapes to do. All fiddly thing s which I will have to do tomorrow early.
Now I just need to tidy up -- hide the evidence and look all calm and relaxed so that he doesn't think there is anything going on !!!
Really good news- Just had a £40 rebate from the Nationwide for my dd2 and my account. It was set up when she went travelling but I am going to bale out as I find her monetary ways stressful!!!
Hope everybody else.s day is going wellTry and do a good deed every day.0 -

Hi all - hope everyone is having a good day. HAPPY BIRTHDAY PATENTGIRL!
DANNAHAZ - I had to laugh at your description of men shopping. They're all like that! The last time I went shopping with my DH he tried on a jumper and said 'don't like it - doesn't feel right' and he hadn't pulled it down at the back. I straightened him out and then noticed another wife doing the same with her DH! I heard another wife say 'take your hands out of your pockets' and her husband did exactly as he was told! I just think they regress to being children again - the only thing I didn't do was get my DH to spit on a hanky so I could clean his face!
HESTER - well done on your eBay sales!
ALIBOB - we love Brighton - I think it's one of the most exciting places in the UK. The atmosphere there is always positive and uplifting. We found a 'dirty weekend' hotel there and have been a few times (we stayed in the Nookii room, last time!).
AUSSIELASS - do they have charity shops in Australia?
I've just been looking at the 'free food' thread which is fascinating - I'm going to buy some of the books that were mentioned.
Anyway, off now - hope to call in later; I'm babysitting so I don't know what time I'll be back.
