Bought some Fish Cakes from Aldi yesterday £1.29, superior to those sold in Lidl. You can actually see the fish.0

Aldi's own brand barbecue sauce is surprisingly good for the price - far more so than some of the expensive imported ones you see on the shelves at Sainsbury's etc.0

I agree, the 17p one is awful compared to the Premium one.
I actually think for a low budget option thaty the 17p one tastes quite good. It isn't gassy like most value ranges and has a subtle taste of lemon rather than some fake taste.
That said the 42p stuff beats the brands out the water, but at the moment I'm on a strict budget so 17p stuff it is.
Also the poster who mentioned BBQ sauce...yes last year all three of the ranges they stocked were fantastic. I hate that in winter they stop selling it...Morrisons BBQ is quite spicy and runny and HP BBQ tastes a bit weird lately. Closest nice one is Heinz or Crucial BBQ from Heron foods.0 -
I shop at Aldi and the reason why they scan quickly Is that they dont just sit on the checkouts all day, they have to put out the stock on the shop floor too
They do the tasks of more than just one person, thats how they manage to keep there overheads low
Also It helps If we can put all of our shopping straight Into our trolleys then pack our bags away from the checkout, the scanners are highly sensitive, you cant always blame the staff,Its the customer tooJan 2020 Kitten cross stitching0 -
I usually buy branded decaffeinated coffee, but I'd run out and didn't want to make a special trip to another supermarket, so I bought the Lidl "Bellarom" Gold Decaffeinated.
It's actually very good - perhaps not the roundness of flavour of some of the very expensive products, but quite palatable.
The clincher is the price: currently on offer at £1.29 for 100g, it's less than half the price of branded coffee.0 -
Bought Aldi toastie bread yesterday, similar coloured packaging to Hubby's favourite Warbies toastie loaf but 45p compared to £1 for Warbies. Thumbs up from Hubby for Aldi's own, much nicer than own branded bread from Tesco or Asda and, in his opinion, as good as Warbies0

Lidl's Silvercrest handmixer (on offer from Thursday for £15) is a good product.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!
