I wrote a letter to Vodafone in August 2015 regarding my account which was in default. This letter was ignored and my debt was passed to Collect Direct UK Ltd. I had trouble with my finances and had got myself into debt. I managed to agree settlement figures with Barclaycard, Halifax and Santander, but, not with Vodafone. My father and I sent numerous letters to Vodafone which were largely ignored. It is now May and I have sent another letter to the Chief Exec office, offering a settlement figure. I received a phone call from a customer service agent, I was not in so I called back. The customer service advisor would not escalate my claim to senior management and would not let me speak to anyone in the Chief Exec Office. She also said that there would be no reply to my letter that I had sent. She said you can pay the full amount balance or we can go to deadlock. I would of thought an institution such as Vodafone would have the courtesy to reply to my letter but obviously not.
Having dealt with Barclaycard, Halifax and Santander customer service who were all excellent in helping me. I find Vodafone's customer service to be diabolical. But, having read all the forums and reviews this is to be expected.
Could anyone offer me any advice dealing with this situation?0 -
After reading your plight with Vodafone I thought I would offer any advice I could think that could be of help to you
I am too having difficulty with Vodafone I upgraded a phone which had a fault and was returned was told to take out the sim tray holder etc. New phone arrived a day later but than a month later they sent me a letter saying I owe them 174 pounds for a missing sim
Same part only cost 4 pound on Amazon if not cheaper. I disputed they then email me saying I was being charge for it because it had a few scratches
They must of thought I was stupid. I challenge it scratches dosnt brake a phone
Bunch of cowboys to big for there boots so it's at ombudsman now
My advice to you is go to cab if not done already
Also they can't get blood out of a stone record your delivery of all correspondence
Did you know debt collectors can't brake dwn doors only court ones they can only come in to your home if invited or let in look it up laws have change on debt collectors but they prey on the ones which are not aware
Good luck hope any of this helps I really do0 -
A debt collector/bailiff requires a court warrant signed by a court judge to enter your home without your permission, otherwise it is trespass and/or breaking and entering (burglary) isn't it? Correct me if I am wrong here please.0

You are most definitely correct and in some cases if proven heavy handed people who have had that treatment from these debt collectors have even had there bills wipe.
You only have to look online and you realize that it's not jus a few people complaining about Vodafone it's mega loads makes you wonder how long can a company of such actively survive there's only so many costumer they can rip off scam be rude to until they vote with feet
Vodafone have you guys pressed the wrong button (self destruct button) :wall:0 -
SO here's one thing that does annoy me.
Lee from Vodafone just tried to call (thanks :-)) my phone didn't ring for some reason and he left a voicemail assuming I was on the phone. Why do companies not try twice to call, particularly as you can't call them back! He has said he'll try to call me after 1PM tomorrow so again I need to make sure I am ready to take the call at any moment or else we'll never be able to talk.
It was the same when I was called regarding my posted letter of complaint. One attempt at a call, a voicemail and that's the end of it. It's infuriating!!!0 -
We only just found out the default on my husband's credit file because we want to apply for a mortgage.
My husband was on the mobile contract with vodafone few years ago. He cancelled his contract on the phone last year, and he confirmed the last month of payment would be march at the end of the phone call with the gentleman he spoke to. He made sure the last promised payment was out, then he cancelled the direct debit. However, vodafone continues to charge him for another three months.
He phoned Vodapone customer service straight away when we found out the default, and he spent one hour to repeatly explain the matter to people from customer service, billing department and collection department. The lady from the billing department said it is not his fault, and promised she would contact a superuser to remove the debts from his vodafone account and then contact the collection deparment to get the default remove from his credit file. She said it would take her one day to sort out the problem, and she will call him back next day(17/05/16). She didn't phone back as promised, so my husband tried to call and found nothing has been done. The lady from the customer service today asked him to pay for the bill through a debt collection agency, but she said she can't delete the default from his credit file.
It is a very frustrated experience and ruin our life at the moment. Our mortgage cannot proceed because of this.:(0 -
Hi all. I need some help with my Vodaphone deal. I took out a 12 month sim only at end of Jan through an offer on mse. It is £19.80 + 6 month Spotify + £60 Amazon voucher. The offer was on the mse email on 20 January . I am now chasing the Amazon voucher but Vodaphone say they know nothing about this. I have found the relevant page on mse with the offer but the link through is not working any more. Does anyone have any idea how I can get my voucher??0

Stop being naive and believing in any word Vodafail's CS say or any promise they give.
Stop wasting time on telephone calls. If you really need to make a call, record it.
Complain in writing.
Be prepared to spend months on getting this sorted out and taking the case to the ombudsman ultimately.
And learn the lesson. Don't cancel DDs. It's much easier to get refunded the money taken incorrectly than to get a credit file put back to order.0 -
Contact the WRT - see the main thread before Vodafone threads splinter into dozens again. All else is definitely a waste of time.0
