If we vote for Brexit what happens

Iain Duncan Smith, former work and pensions secretary and a key figure in Vote Leave, said Mrs May had not “reneged” on any promises. Instead, the prime minister’s words had been “overinterpreted”.
Mr Duncan Smith added: “A points-based system was never a general panacea through which all these problems could be solved. The key to controlling migration is a work-permit basis . . . prioritising skilled people we are short of, such as software engineers, over low-skilled workers.”
A Number 10 spokesman said on Monday: “One of the opportunities of Brexit is that we will be able to control the number of people coming to Britain from the EU. The precise way in which the government will control the movement of EU nationals to Britain after Brexit is yet to be determined. However, as the PM has said many times in the past, a [points-based system] will not work and is not an option.”
“When Labour introduced a PBS, the numbers went straight up,” the spokesman added. “In Australia, they have a PBS, and they have higher immigration per capita than Britain . . . An immigration system that works for Britain would ensure that the right to decide who comes to the country resides with the government.”

Did your ballot paper say something different to mine?
The question was "should we remain in or leave the EU?". Not "should we end free moment, free market access and everything else the EU entails?"Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Yes but there will be a lot of people asking what's the point of Brexit if everything just stays more or less the same in terms of FOM and paying into the EU etc etc. That's what's coming across at the moment. Brexit means Brexit but a Brexit which is almost the same as just not having the vote in the first place.
( I voted remain ).It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -

= Uncertainty
UKIP are just a pretend stick being used to scare Scots into supporting independence because they'd favour a hard Brexit.Shakethedisease wrote: »re SNP May 2016 They did ok after a decade already in power.
SNP towers still don't think they'd win a second referendum. It's self evident because if they did a referendum would've been announced.
The GE in 2015 was the high water mark. May 2016 was OK but I expected the SNP to secure more seats and I'm pretty sure you did too.0 -

Something to do with having all the levers - you might recognise the argument.0 -

Ok so since we voted to leave we should invoke article 50 immediately then with no exit negotiation required?0 -

Why do we have this rubbish 'Australa has more immigration with a points based system' - with a points based system you can choose how many poeple you let in.
Austalia can choose to let in lots - their system could be you need at least 1 point to get in and having a pulse scores 2 points.
We could choose a system where you need 1 milion points plus to get in and all categories score 1 point except for 'Are you the Olympic 100m champion?' which scores 1 million. A points based system that will restrict migration to one person or fewer.
This sort of treating the electorate as stupid children is why the referendum was lost by remain in the first place.I think....0 -
points based system are useless
-decide how many immigrants want in total lets say 20k
-hold contingency number for politicians to play with say 20%
-simple auction of the rest on a money basis
if it turns out that a chip shop in hull bids more than RR for a aero engineer then so beit.
obviously criminal records checks, minimum eduction levels, fluent in English, health checks etc0 -

That's absolutely not what I'm saying. What I'm saying is that because the referendum question was so vauge and non-commital, May literally has huge amounts of wiggle room. Brexit may mean Brexit, but there was never a particular flavour of Brexit on the table.
We could sever all ties with Europe and everything it entails, we could have a situation where we retain the key priciples of the EU. Leavers have voted for one just as much as they have voted for the other.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature.
