Have you heard of the ageing population problem - that most developed countries are struggling with? The recent increase in birth rates in the UK is due to immigrants. You need today's children to help tomorrow's old people.

"by 2065, 26% of the population of England and Wales would be more than 65 years old, up from 18% today, increasing the cost of pensions, health and social care."

“All the figures show that people born in or raised in the UK aren’t having many children, if at all. Immigrants are really the ones behind this birth rate.

    (I can't post links).

Indeed – but what we do not need is illegal migrants from countries such as Somalia, who are likely to contribute little economically and be all at sea in our society (without the ability or desire to integrate), but will be a massive economic drain on taxpayers (there are calculations as to how much taxpayers' money it takes to sustain just a single migrant throughout his/her whole life, and the amounts are enormous). I believe that any migrants (from the EU or illegal non-EU ones) who do not contribute to our society should not be here.

There is in any case a limit to how much the population of our small island should increase via immigration. The infrastructure is already very badly affected by immigration in several areas.

Before 2100 much of the world will be open borders

By 2200 the whole world might be

I'm glad I won't be alive to see such a scenario (hopefully it won't transpire, though this is no doubt the aim of financial interests that rule the world). Big international businesses would be delighted with such a dystopia – there would be a huge pool of workers all scrabbling for jobs that would be increasingly scarce and increasingly low paid. The middle class would cease to exist. Lovely new world for future generations to look forward to, though I suspect that humanity may prune itself as a species through competition for resources, etc., so preventing it… :T

dont be silly by 2100 all but the poorest will be richer than England residents are today.

wealth will be much much higher especially as the near AI software starts to be invented (the first of which will be self drive tech which will bring in a huge wave of additional wealth to all the planet)

also open borders was a thing for most of the last 200 thousand years of modern human existence. its only really the last 0.1-0.2 thousand years where it was closed so we are going back to the norm over the next 0.1-0.2 thousand years

FWIW, Morgan Stanley came out with a report on the Brexit stuff.

They reckon the reform of the terms of membership were 'substantially more than...expected' especially on opt-outs, immigration and welfare. More of a strengthening of what exists than a fundamental change.

They reckon remain is twice as likely to win the vote as leave from where we stand.

I'm not saying I agree or disagree with what they say. I just thought I'd chuck it into the mix along with anything else I see from the brokers.

The British dream used to be to end up in the country side. Now it's to end up in the sun. Once people focus on the fact that a whole world of possibilities will close to them to work and live in Europe, the leave vote will be dead in the water.

I'm tempted to place money on us staying in, I think the odds are way too generous at the moment. There is no chance we're going anywhere.

Boris must be planning a long game because I think even he knows it ain't happening.
Proudly voted remain. A global union of countries is the only way to commit global capital to the rule of law.

Even he isn't saying the UK should leave Europe. He's saying, AIUI, vote Leave to gain more concessions.

If even the de facto head of the Leave campaign isn't calling for the UK to leave then you have to wonder how credible the idea of leaving is.

To be honest with you, that's what Brexit boils down to. Yet another politician trying to bl00dy negotiate a deal with the EU. We might end up with something 'better' or we might not.

Which one? There are at least two.

Are we talking about David Cummings?

How long does it take a EU national living here to have the right to vote in the UK be it in a general election or this referendum?

As long as it takes them to complete their application for British citizenship, and for the authrorities to process it. Which I think is about six months, so it's probably a bit late now, since the referendum is in June.:)
