I would say, based on my experience, a large majority are.

Or maybe idiots like you who are happy in your middle class utopia and are unaffected by the daily impact immigration has on this country can sit there in your ivory tower calling people racists...

I suppose patriotic americans are also all racist?

Are you seriously suggesting some americans (patriotic or otherwise) are not racist ?

In a country where there was segregation until 50 years ago, I'm surprised that you think deeply held racist views don't exist (and among black people as well as white).

Here's the market for next PM which I take to be a good proxy for next Tory PM given that Mr Cameron has stated that he's going to resign before the next election plus the whole fixed term thingy:

Bozza is 3.9 to back and 4.5 to lay. No value on either side that I can see. Gove at 24-1 (25) might offer value I suppose. He's a senior bloke and I could see everyone else punching themselves out and he nips in to get the prize at the end.

The way the vote works for the leadership is that the MP's narrow it down to 2 and then the party members vote.
I'd suggest you want someone with solid anti Europe views who can garner just enough MP's (say a third) to come second and get through to the members vote.
I think Johnson would outscore Gove (who I think just looks a bit weird - trivial but it counts) on the MP's and would be the outer candidate.
May would be good as the 'inner' candidate but has to beat Osborne who will enjoy almost a free pass from the clown of a shadow chancellor for the next 2-3 years.
Johnson probably wins a members vote.

Which nicely leads to the Tories having a leader who is more popular among activists than their own MP's.

Europe is not made up like the United States, which is one large nation that is unified in its origins and history.

Is that why the flying or displaying of the Confederate flag is now banned? ;)

Yes, point taken – but it is still more unified than the European countries can ever be, and it has a common history and background.:p

My original question said 'all' not 'some'...some are definitely racist, but it seems anyone who is patriotic about their country is also labelled as such...

    Somebody call my name?

Well I suppose, you could argue BoJo ain't a bankbencher cos he is in the political cabinet. But he doesn't have a proper job in the government, he's supposed to be running London, so let's put that to one side.

Churchill? Although again, technically he was already PM at the time he became leader. Other than him I can't think of anybody.
