If we vote for Brexit what happens

Not true actually. It's generally accepted by many neutrals that Cameron called the referendum to shoot the UKIP fox. It's also common gossip that when he unexpectedly won a majority he regretted his decision to promise a referendum. Labour pointing this out is hardly the politics of hate!Moby is doing what Labour and their supporters have being doing since before GE2015, and attacking the Tories on some misguided notion of "vileness". It may stir some people to hatred and therefore more likely to vote against the Tories, but it's not real policy to get people to vote for Labour. They should instead focus on being the better party through active politics rather than the reactive politics of stirring hate.0 -
It isn't criticism that's the issue, it's the ineptitude of it. If you can find me an example of anyone on here calling you a bigot or racist for saying it's difficult teaching in a multi-language classroom I'll give you some credit, but it's almost certainly the same straw-man nonsense. If people are accusing you of either thing it wouldn't surprise me, but they'll be doing it for better reasons than you seem to deludedly dismiss it with.
people who raise concerns about overcrowded schools, NHS facilities and housing etc and routinely described as racist little englanders.0 -
^^Thisif the vote is to stay in, the future negotiating position of the UK is effectively zero.
I am not in favour of increased European Union, nothing to do with immigration but entirely to do with democracy. However I am pretty certain the status quo will win the referendum and that that will lead to faster European integration than if we had never held a referendum

Under SNP Rules, the UK gets to have a fresh EU referendum:
1. If Germany and Britain vote differently on something
2. If the EU has a President from one of a number of pre-specified parties
3. If Mr Salmond or Ms Sturgeon says so0 -

I'm not too worried, but I do have a plan B just in caseBy the way, do you wash cars?
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Only mine I'm afraid. I'm the boss of me so I can actually easily up sticks and set up in another country should I wish to. I'm mortgage-free and would get about £550k for my flat, wondering what that would get me elsewhere
Now free from the incompetence of vodafail0 -

I think you over estimate Cameron's ability to resist federation long term. It's what I want anyway. I've been a bit wrong about Cameron......I always thought he didn't believe in anything but from what I saw on Marr's sofa on Sunday .....he's actually true believer in the European project!:)setmefree2 wrote: »I don't want to be part of that. I'm glad Cameron has made it clear the UK is not part of that - that we are not part of "ever closer union". I would vote Leave if I thought that was what I was voting for. I'm voting to stay in a trading block.
I'll be happy to say how wonderful he is over the next few months!0 -

I thought there was a lot of Hoopla about the Lisbon Treaty giving the UK and opt out of 'ever closer union'....how come we need to go through all that again. Does anyone have any confidence that with the current agreement 'this time it will be different'?
No, Article 1 of the Lisbon Treaty provides that it is a "new stage in the process of creating an ever closer union among the peoples of Europe".
However, we had an opt-out from the Euro as part of the Maastricht Treaty. In practical terms, one could argue that by not joining the Euro we could avoid this 'ever closer union', but there was always a good chance that the UK might get obliged to implement some of the steps towards 'ever closer union' despite this.
Obtaining a specific opt-out on 'ever closer union' at least makes that explicit. But there is always a chance that the EU might try and redefine some of these steps towards this 'ever closer union' as being something else entirely. So it might well still result in further argument.0 -

In the long term......we'll all be dead......
