Again, you resort to putting words in my mouth. Your arguments are sometimes convincing and I even think that you are reasonable, but why do you resort to this?
so what exactly did you mean byThe leave vote actually have no idea what they were voting for because their campaign leaders would not tell them
did you mean they were intelligent well informed people or what exactly?0 -
Hmm - not so much patriotism as more a sense of belonging in your street or town
A lot of the Polish people where I live have more comprehensible accents than some English people I could mention. A lot of the Romanian people in my area present themselves and keep their homes better than a lot of the English - all the more notable given that I live in Tory, Home Counties heartland.
I'm all for the retention of core British values, but if you want to start winning that battle you need to start with the existing British people, regardless of how many or how few immigrants are around.0 -

Just seem Daniel Hannon interviewed on Newsnight. He apparently supports the idea of retaining some hind of Freedom of Movement for Labour, provided it is separated from citizen rights within a Free Trade Agreement.
What on earth has this this Referendum been about then?
Saw that as well. Its so gutting. The future of this country has been decided by those peddling lies and misinformation sucked up by a public full of anger and hate towards immigrants.0 -
There is a lot of misinformation on this thread by people who are only bitter that leave won. Project fear is carrying on after the event to try to prove the lies were right....0

Just get over it.
It was put to the vote and the majority won with the leave vote.
We won 2 world wars and I'm certain we can manage outside the EU again.
All this talk of people wanting to leave the UK makes me laugh, If you don't like it here just go. Don't threaten to do it to gain sympathy.
I'm sure Europe will welcome you with open arms.0 -
Well this takes me back0

The process of rallying behind the result relies on both sides coming to terms with the reality of what the situation means.
It's incumbent on the leave side to tell us what is actually going to happen, now that they have no political interest in swaying anyone. Until then, the remain side - whilst accepting the democratic result - have no reason to change their opinions on what a leave vote means.0 -

Its the Government that need to decide where we go from here not the leave campaigners.
The public decided they wanted to leave and now OUR government have to find a way to take us forward. That's what they are there for isn't it?
The government gave everyone a CHOICE as to how they want to take the UK forward.
The public chose to leave so now they have to take the UK forward for us.
Its what they are paid for.0
