The need for more housing, transport, NHS resources is obviously dependent upon population and so immigration has caused some of the need.
Obviously i agree that this should be funded by taxation:
so the issue a rises, why aren't the 'remain ' camp open and honest and say we need to increase taxation to fund the shortfall in services and that much of this shortfall is due to immigration.

That isn't an issue for either camp in the referendum. That is an issue for government economic policy, which the Tories aim to solve by increasing business investment, increasing employment and cutting spending on services and welfare. This is the democratic elected government cutting our services, nothing to do with the EU. Without EU immigration, we would be in the same or worse situation.
Planners do what the elected councillors tell them to do.

It doesn't feel democratic to me.
well, if you don't know much about them I suppose you won't really have a rational view either way.

My rational view is that being honest with myself EU laws were never an issue for me until the media started telling me they should be. My guess is the same would apply to 95% of people, even those who now feel very strongly against EU laws.

But being honest with yourself isn't easy when views are held so strongly. This very much applies to me, and most humans.

I think the Jo Cox accused giving his name as 'Death to traitors, freedom for Britain' has done it for the leave campaign. Johnson and Gove know the game's up hence the last minute cosying up to Cameron.

The campaigns have been really quite poor. I've learnt nothing new and don't recall anyone with a new take on existing information. The polls have been kind to leave (people are biased towards doing what they think most other people will do) and they've done a sterling job keeping the nutters in their boxes. Hardly heard from Farage and his followers who aren't racist but..

This referendum should've been done and dusted months ago. An event or mistake was always going to swing it. Leave have suffered an awful piece of bad luck.
I have learnt a lot eg EU contribution to Good Friday agreement; impact of a Brexit on N Ireland; projects funded in Wales by the EU ; impact on environment ; how farming subsidies work. Also by canvassing so many houses in a rural area learnt no 1 issue is the disappearance of well paid jobs especially in manufacturing not immigration.

How do you know Chile hasn't negotiated good trade deals?

After 50+ years the EU still has no trade deal with the US, China and India. That's what happens when you aren't willing to compromise and have to satisfy the whims of 28 differing countries who all have a veto.

Rinoa, are you a Clapton acolyte?
I did not say that Chile has negotiated a good, bad or any trade deal.

As for your 2nd paragraph, I don't think I need to grant it any credibility by making a reply.
There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.

Really - so the performance of the Euro economies will have no impact EU migration to the UK? Dream on.

Michaels, that is an interesting point, if you use it to measure the "pull" that the UK and the pound on has on EU migration to the UK.

Frankly living in a EU Country I see the "pull" of the SOUTH EAST of the U.K. Purely to do with 2 reasons.
    1) 80% with the opportunity to speak better English
    2) 20% with the lack of control that makes it easy to get a job in the Hospitality, food, building, you name it, industry's in the UK.

I played with the % a lot but from where I live they are the two BIG reasons for EU migration. WHICH IS LARGELY TEMPORARY.

Edit, on re reading my post. I wonder wether 1) and 2) are completely interchangeable

You implied it without knowing whether the deals were good or bad.

    Typical little englander attitude.

Wow Mr Ginge. Please, please explain how a Brit (note not Englander) living OUTSIDE of the U.K. Can have as you say "a little englander attitude" from my words that you quote.
    Which are........

Living in one of those Euro country's I am very happy with the Euro and the convenience of having the same currency in many countries. Britain does not use the Euro as currency so any discussion about it is non of our business.
We need to concentrate on our business.

And how do you see the "pull" of the NORTH EAST from way out yonder over there in lil' ole Luxembourg?

I know people assume the UK economy is basically London and the SE, but some pesky British people don't actually live there.
