Well, unfortunately, our largest trading partner by far is the EU!!!!!!!!!!0 -
Say Yes to the whole world.
Say yes to both Europe and the rest of the World.
As we do today.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

wouldn't it be better to say 'yes' to europe and the rest of the world on an equal basis, rather than take a discriminatory stanz?0 -

"We run a massive trade deficit with the EU (but a surplus with the rest of the world). On the day we left, we’d become the EU’s single biggest market, accounting for 21 per cent of its exports – more than its second and third largest markets (the US and Japan) combined."

According to the bbc the big news story is that a minor tory who never campaigned for leave now supports remain. Talk about a choreographed non-story. Of course after the Jo Cox intervention remain think 'leave are nasty to immigrants' is their issue, it won't happen but it would be funny if the carefully planned campaign backfired.I think....0

The statement you quote is the one that the article you link to goes on to debunk! :rotfl:
From your article:So Mr Hannan’s 21 percent is indeed way off; but the second half of his statement, where he suggests that Japan is the EU’s second largest export market, and that the UK is larger than the second and third largest markets put together, is even more ludicrous.
But these figures do suggest we would become the EU’s single largest trading partner for trade in goods. However, this would probably not be the case for trade overall. Including services would probably reduce the UK’s share somewhat (the EU ex UK exports something over 600 billion euro in services, while the UK imports only about 40-45 billion euro in services from the rest of the EU). Moreover, the US would very probably overtake the UK as the EU ex UK’s largest single export market.
Well done sir! :T0 -
And how do you see the "pull" of the NORTH EAST from way out yonder over there in lil' ole Luxembourg?
I know people assume the UK economy is basically London and the SE, but some pesky British people don't actually live there.
Kabayiri, When I wrote South East I could have said London. I only said it as "foreigners" see it.
Many people in the UK only see Rome for Italy, New York for America, Amsterdam for Holland. Those views are not intended to slight other parts of those countries.
I was born in the Midlands and only moved to London for work (just a tiny example),
I know you don't like it but the South East of England is a huge magnet to both British and EU Citizens.
I am sure you don't know this but an interesting fact for you about Luxembourg which has a population of 580,000
EVERY DAY +120,000 people travel accross the borders from Germany, France and Belgium to WORK in Luxembourg.
So here in Lil' ole Luxembourg we know a thing or two about magnets. There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -

As Generali pointed out. If you'd actually like to read the article that you linked to:What does this tell us about the UK’s bargaining power with the EU after a Brexit? Well, it certainly confirms that we would become one of the EU’s largest export markets, even if not necessarily the largest. But we’d still be far less important to the EU than they are to us – the EU still takes about 45 percent of our exports, down from 55 percent at the turn of the century. And, if you treat the EU as one country, as this analysis does, “exports” become considerably less important overall (intra-EU trade is far more important to almost all EU countries).
Your article then goes on to point out that UK exports would account for about 3% of EU total GDP.
I think you people really need to get your facts sorted out before you are allowed to go and vote on Thursday.0 -

what patronising, steorotyping load on nonsense
foreigners are so stupid they think London is the Uk?
we are so stupid we think NY is the USA?
do you actually LISTEN to people at all outside your little cacoon of bigotry?0
