So you think Capital flight is a sign of global confidence in our bright post-Brexit future then Clapton?

No, global confidence is pretty meaningless : I sold virtual my whole share portfolio last year on the basis that global confidence got it wrong : I have not been disappointed.

Global confidence valued junk bonds as AAA.

But, I do think that our medium term future is more important : so do you think that foreign ownership of our industry, all profits/dividends going abroad, increased foreign debt, huge balance of payments deficit is a good thing?

Selling the family silver, mortgaging the future : I expect no less from Labour but now all the parties are equally mad.

Ooh let's all have a big cry at some inevitable movements of currency.
When will you lot realise that no-one gives a stuff about pointless short term economic factors.

I was just asking why we were seeing apparent capital flight from the UK as the risk of Brexit appears to increase, if there was no economic risk associated with leaving the EU as I have seen quite a few on here claim.

    Hardly crying about it.

This will be the economic preamble into the initial shock of leaving should that be the result. I wasn't ever under the illusion that this wouldn't be the case. Any EU-centric investment would have been waiting for a Remain win and those who are already invested and are worried about a Leave vote will be those pulling out now. It might be difficult to attract FDI during the negotiation period too.

do you consider global market usually correct

do you regret not selling your house and buying junk bonds just before 2007?

Thanks for the reasoned answer, and I agree with you.

I just get somewhat frustrated with those who claim there is no economic downside/risk for the Leave case.

The likes of Patrick Minford certainly appear to and he seems to be the Brexiters economist of choice these days.

Of course if lots of people are selling their UK assets, then lots of other people are buying them.

Maybe it's the smart ones doing the buying.
If I don't reply to your post,
you're probably on my ignore list.

Not particularly as I didn't own a house in 2007.
