Looks what happened in Austria the other day - they nearly elected a extreme right wing nutjob. What happens when the next Merkel or Holland is an extreme rightwing nutjob? Will you want out then?
Personally I have more faith in Germans voters than I do in English ones. There is no evidence that the English will ever vote for anything progressive or reformist or in any way other than what they think their immediate self interest is.0 -

Indeed. He digs out the facts the remainers aren't comfortable with.
Here's another one, just for Mayo.
In 1994 the Norwegians had their referendum to join the EU. The Norwegian Govt. had their own version of project fear and warned that unemployment would increase 100,000 if they didn't join. That's a lot for a small country.
But those Norwegians were smart enough to see through the propaganda and voted NO.
So what happened next?
Unemployment fell!If I don't reply to your post,

All these are non-EU states.
The assumption that Southern European EU members have high unemployment due to being in the EU is clearly a red herring.
Actually, i partly agree with you here - its not due to being in the EU - its due to being in the Euro.0 -

Now tailing off.

Yes. I should have qualified Europe as being those countries that didn't suffer communist rule for 50 years or were unfortunate to experience civil wars.
I expect most people would have assumed that anyway. If I don't reply to your post,

Things could be worse. The oil price falling AND being held back by the EU.If I don't reply to your post,

Unusual to hear a pro remain person being honest about the fact that the EU is anti-democratic and that is why they are in favour. Thank youI think....0 -

OK, you convinced me. I'd be happy for the UK to go for the Norway model in case we vote to leave. As an EEA member, we do not participate in decision-making in Brussels, but we loyally abide by Brussels’ decisions. We have incorporated approximately three-quarters of all EU legislative acts into Norwegian legislation – and counting. We have legally secured access to the single market, and we practise the free movement of people, goods, services and capital. Norway is more closely integrated into many aspects of the EU than even some of the EU’s members. Our subscription to freedom of movement and our membership of the Schengen area means that Norway has even higher per capita immigration than Britain.
