The towering stupidity is more likely to come from the euroloons in Brussels for whom compromise means do what we say or else.

No don't worry. While I'm sure there will be more than a few stupidity towers before this is over, the one's that started it all are going to have by far the largest.

    Evidence for that?

Do you have prior knowledge of the outcome of negotiations?

I suspect the answer to both of my questions is "No".

I suspect you'll find that businesses in the UK are making exactly the same preparations. Remind me. Who buys more from whom?

Of course British manufacturers are (have) doing exactly the same. This is normal business when such a HUGE change in trading relationships is on the horizon.. However Look at the difference....
An Italian/French/German company looking for an alternative supplier Will have all the EU to look with open borders, no duty, no paperwork.
Whereas a British manufacturer will have to consider if the new product will be subject to border control, possible duty payable and EXTRA paperwork.
Or gamble that if the new/old supplier is in the EU what deal Britain will get in the Phase two of the negotiations and WHEN.
There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.

Will it get anywhere near your beloved France`s current rate of 10%+? :)

Who knows, I hope not. However Britain is making its non EU bed and will have to live with the result.

Still less than Luxembourg, then. But then, what do experts know.

Quite right. Experts are always wrong until they are right.

Isn't this exactly what FoM proponents want? These Euro workers are able to move elsewhere according to their own economic circumstances.

We have no automatic right to keep them here. At the first sign of more money elsewhere, they would be off.

Or they might leave even if the money is the same because they feel less welcome.
It's not all about the money. If you have skills that make you attractive to employers in different Country's the quality of life plays an important part in the decisions.

You're looking at that from the wrong angle.
    ;)
Your supposed Italian/French/German company will - because of the diktats of the EU - have all the EU to look to with its open borders BUT with the duties applied beforehand by the EU.

The British company will however be free to chose from suppliers around the globe free from EU diktats upon duties, quotas and trade barriers.

As for your paperwork - how little you know.
The EU is famed for unnecessary bureaucracy and the amount of paperwork the EU causes has oft been complained-of here in the UK.

    Oh well.
Yet another attempt at pro-EU propaganda failed then.

Free of the constraints of the EU.
    Yay.

The world may end following an alien invasion too. :p
You really are clutching at straws here.
