The Tories are saying that the EU is meddling in British politics in the run up to a general election. Perhaps it is occurring or perhaps they're making this stuff up to try to rally the electorate behind them.0 -
Brexit has the potential to scupper the whole project, so it's not surprising that the 'big two' in the Eurozone are keen to keep things moving.
Totally the reverse. With the UK gone. So is a major influence against the concept. The big 2 are the axis of the EU. How many times over the centuries has the French/German border been moved. After countless wars.0 -

There may be a lot more negative story's to come. Brexit has not yet happened. There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -

Then they stopped doing that when we joined the common market.
Just seems a bit strange, always wondered why we suddenly had to have proper passports to go to France when we joined.
You will certainly still need a passport to go to France after Brexit. I am hoping that will be all. There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -

But do British voters know what the right deal looks like.
Given the first three things on the agenda are
1) EU and British citizens rights
2) The Irish border
3) The financial obligations
Who can know what the best deal is. A deal will be reached but no one will know if it is the best as everything will be covered in spin from 28 sides. There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -

Another door slams shut in a British young person's face thanks to Brexit and it's knuckle dragging supporters. If only the government had hidden pro Europe information inside tubes of Pringles. The result would have been so different.
I find this a really silly anti Brexit story. It is similar to visiting a vegetarian resteraunts and ordering a steak. Just plain stupid. There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -
We await the chaos from Brexit. Perhaps it will come but hopefully it will never materialise and the UK will remain united and will surge ahead. I've made it very clear that I have grave doubts. My question is, if we do end up worse off financially in a few years time who will the Brexiteers blame? Would it be the easy target of the remainers? Would it be the EU? Would it be our government? My hunch is that it would be whoever The Daily Mail tell them is at fault.
I believe leaving the EU is very bad for Britain. However in due course Britain will recover. How long that takes ( 10-20 years) and how much Britain prospers will be entirely down to the Government in power at the start and the British people.
Britain has prospered while in the EU. When Britain joined the EU it was known as the poor man of Europe. It is up to you to make sure you don't get that award again. There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -

Here is an unelected politician telling Ireland who they can trade with and on what terms. !!!!!!?!
How many people died trying to get Ireland independent? Especially at the hands of Gerry Adams sitting just behind Barnier.
It's a joke.
It is not a joke but Democracy at work. It is dreadful to see Adams sitting there but he was properly elected.
Trying to link Barnier to him is very unfair, but, all is fair in politics and it would appear in this Brexit thread.
His 20 minute speech focused on the border issue not who they could trade with. You should be reminded what could go wrong over the border when you write the name Gerry Adams.
Here is the full text of the speech. http://europa.eu/rapid/press-release_SPEECH-17-1276_en.htmThere will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0
